Find a work schedule
Priority your work and priority your family life . Regardless if you have 1 hour to work with your business or 8 hours, make sure this is your time, and your time only. Make sure that your family knows this and respect your time.
On the other side, you have to show the same courtesy and respect. When your time is up its up. Spend time with your friends and family. Do the tasks that needed to be done.
This going to be a very short post, but I can't stress this point enough. I have just lost 6 year of a great relationship because my time was not understood, or respected.
How do you plan your day and how do you manage your business hours? Does your family support what you do?

With so many competing tasks on a daily basis, a work schedule comes as the best organiser one can have.
I have to save time for family and even explain why I at times spend long hours on my PC.

Absolutely. A work schedule to follow is necessary to be consistent and make it easier to follow the tasks at hand.
It's unfortunate that you have to explain your self. But the main point is that you come to a common agreement.
I hope that it's fixable, but it's seem pretty dark for the moment.
