How Polls And Questions Can Supercharge Your Social Media!
(Title image by DALL-E 3)
Hi WA Friends!
I have been seeing quite a bit of success with using polls and interactive questions in my social media!
Here are some of the reasons why this approach can help in your online business.
Polls And Interactive Questions Matter
Polls and interactive questions are great tools for social media. They help you learn what your audience thinks and what they like. This is important for online marketing because it helps you make content or products that people really want. When you ask questions, it gets people to join in and share their opinions. This helps create a better connection between you and your followers.
Polls Make People Feel Included
When you use polls, it shows your audience that you care about their thoughts. This makes them feel included and more connected to your brand. If someone feels like their voice matters, they are more likely to engage with your posts and even share them with others. Itโs a simple way to start a conversation with your audience and make them feel like theyโre part of something.
Polls Boost Engagement With Interactive Questions
Interactive questions are a smart way to get people talking. When you ask questions that make people think or let them share a fun fact about themselves, they are more likely to respond. This increases engagement, which means more people will see your post. When people start answering, others see it, too, and this makes them curious. Soon, more and more people will start joining in on the conversation.
My audience loves to talk about their likes and dislikes in brands of guitars, amplifiers, and effect pedals. They also tend to have very locked-in views about what bands and musical genres they think are good. You have to know your audience to create provocative questions that will get the most chatter, positive and negative. ๐
Polls Can Lead To More Sales
Polls and interactive questions donโt just get people talking; they can also help boost sales. When people interact with your polls, they may feel more connected to your brand. This connection makes it easier for you to suggest products or services they might like. For example, if you ask what type of product they prefer and then offer a discount on that product, they might be more willing to buy it.
Polls Help You Know Your Audience Better
Using polls and questions can also help you learn more about your followers. You can find out what they are interested in, what problems they have, or what trends they follow. This information helps you create content or products that fit their needs better. Knowing your audience well means you can give them what they want, and that makes them more likely to buy from you.
Polls Keep Your Content Fresh And Fun
Polls and questions can also keep your content from getting boring. People are more likely to engage with your posts if they see that you are offering something new and fun. By adding polls or questions, you make your social media pages more lively and interesting. This can help attract new followers and keep the ones you already have.
Polls And Questions Can Improve Conversions
When your followers feel involved and valued, they are more likely to take the next step, like signing up for a newsletter or making a purchase. By using polls and interactive questions regularly, you create a habit of engagement. This habit can make it more likely that your audience will respond to your calls to action, leading to better conversion rates.
An Example Of Using This In A Musical Niche
Here is one type of poll or interactive question format that I have been getting positive results on social media. First, ask a question, give a bit of background, and then end by asking your audience what they think. The background info can be as long or as short as you need to fit the format of platforms like Pinterest, Facebook, and X.
Using AI is a great way to generate these, but be sure to add your own voice. You might be surprised at the results!
Check out this example. (Done with the assistance of ChatGPT):
Question: Chill Out or Rock Out? Whatโs Your Go-To Genre for Relaxing?
Background: When you need to relax, what kind of music do you listen to? There are many different styles of music, and some work better than others for calming down. Some people enjoy listening to classical music because of the soft and peaceful sounds. Others prefer jazz because it feels smooth and relaxing. You might like ambient music, which often has sounds of nature or quiet tones that help you unwind. Some people enjoy acoustic folk music, which has gentle guitar strums and soothing voices. Or maybe you listen to something completely different, like rock or metal, when you need to chill out.
Music can have a big impact on how we feel, and the best relaxing music can be different for each person. The kind of music that helps you might be boring or too slow for someone else. Thatโs okay because everyone likes different things. No matter what style you choose, relaxing music can help reduce stress, make you feel happy, and give you a break from your busy day.
So, whatโs your favorite genre when itโs time to relax? Cast your vote in this poll and see how many people agree with your choice. If your favorite isnโt listed, you can pick โOtherโ and share what you love in the comments.
Poll: Whatโs Your Go-To Genre for Relaxing?
- Classical

- Ambient
- Acoustic Folk

Tell Me What You Think
Are you using this approach in your online business, and what degree of success are you having with it?
I might do a series of WA blogs using some of the other interactive questions and polls that I have implemented on social media with good results. Would this be something that you might find useful or fun to read?

Hi Frank
Great thoughts for sure. I like the idea of using AI for baseline questions and expanding on them from there.

I love this idea Frank. It gets people thinking and we all enjoy talking about ourselves. lol
How would you keep track of the polling data?
Thanks, Steve! ๐
You have to monitor the comments on your social platforms. You can create a spreadsheet to keep track of which types of polls and interactive comments get the most/best responses and use variations of those.

I was asking cause they have paid platforms for polls and quizzes, etc. But of course, Iโm always looking for free stuff until I start making some $$! ๐ง
Hi Steve
Yeah, I've seen those, but it's easy to generate them on your own, especially with the help of AI.
I think you can get more granular than a poll and quiz generator app by knowing your audience. ๐

Ahhhhhh! I was writing about Abbey Road studio. Perhaps that had something to do with it. Lol ๐

Thatโs true, plus I donโt really have much of an audience yet. I think I can manage itโฆ.๐คฃ

I know about polls, but I do not know how to integrate them in WP. I could ask a question and the reader answers in the comments but that is not a poll in my mind. I wanted something where the reader clicks on the answer and that gets saved somewhere. Haven't thought about it much. I am trying to sort out pinterest at the moment. If there is an easy way to do it though I would include it. Or are you referring to polls used on IG and other socials?
Hi Mona
There are paid and probably some free apps and plugins that will do that.
My post is generally applicable to social platforms, etc. ๐
Frank ๐ธ
thanks Frank I will check. I don't have IG yet. I will look into it.
You're welcome, Mona. ๐
