Why I Link Like a Lunatic
🕸️ Why I Link Like a Lunatic ...
...and Why You Might Want To!
Ever feel like your thoughts are sprinting ahead while your blog posts are still lacing their shoes?
Same here. That’s why I’ve started linking my posts like my future self depends on it ... because… she does.
🧠 My Brain Has Tabs Open - So Should My Blog
Once upon a time (a.k.a. last week), I shared a whimsical parable about AI oars and tech teamwork. A few scrolls later, I was writing about SEO and site optimization.
Did I link them together?
At first, no.
Tragic. Missed my own plot twist.
Now?
I treat every post like a bead in a bracelet. A thread in a story. A step in my evolving, sometimes sleep-deprived brilliance (Uhm...)
🪢 Internal Linking = Mental Breadcrumbs
Here’s what happens when I don’t link:
- I rewrite the same advice three different ways and wonder why it feels familiar.
- Readers message me like, “Didn’t you say this before… somewhere?”
- I go back, find gold I’d forgotten, and wish I had just… connected the dots.
So now, I link.
Like a proud mom showing off baby pictures, I point to earlier posts and say: “Look! This was me figuring it out in real time!”
🔍 Example? Let’s Get Real.
That post where I was buzzing about affiliate marketing?
It really clicked after I shared my Amazon VIP story (yes, the one with the pajama debut and joyful panic).
Or that tip-filled guide on content creation?
It made a lot more sense once I linked back to my early “what I got wrong”moments about referrals and nurturing.
And don’t get me started on SEO. My “Link It Like It’s Hot” moment came only after someone literally said, “I’m still lost.” 💡
🛠️ So… Why Bother?
- It keeps your ideas from floating off like untethered balloons.
- It shows growth ... a timeline of “I used to think” vs. “Now I know.”
- It helps readers see the whole journey, not just the post-of-the-day.
✨ PS: It’s Not Self-Promo, It’s Self-Connection
Here on WA, we don’t name-drop our own sites , but we can shine in other ways:
- Link your older WA posts when you reference past lessons.
- Update your profile with your milestones (and maybe a few well-placed metaphors).
- Be the thread that ties others together. We all win when the stage lights go up.

TL;DR for Fellow Brainy Bees 🐝
Don’t let your posts wander solo in the woods.
Link them. Thread them. Make them part of your bigger, evolving, epic voice.
Because you’re not just writing blogs.
You’re building a universe ... one witty breadcrumb at a time.
To yours!

Fantastic, Fleeky. Important powerful message. I couldn't agree more. I kinda cheat by using the Lnkwhisper plugin which saves a lot of time searching for appropriate linking opportunities and managing them. Linkwhisper is free with a paid version. It's one of very few plugins I actually pay for, because it saves me so much time.

Hi Richard!
Yes... Linkwhisper is a great plugin indeed...
Does it integrate well with your SEO plugin?
I am using linkjuicer...
😀 Fleeky
Yes. It can be setup to pick up keywords from Rankmath. I'm sure it'll work ok with others as well. I'm without good internet for a few days so it's difficult for me to do any research. But I do find the development team at Linkwhisper refreshing. They run weekly, live, zoom sessions within which one can build a bit of a relationship with them and ask any questions. They often pick up development ideas from these sessions. They demonstrate a deep understanding of SEO.

I must admit that for my website I frequently use links back to previous articles - and do try to build a story line... but my topic is a technical one and probably readily lends itself to this approach.
Ouch!
Yep ... there are link plugins like linkwhipser or linkjuicer...
They voth come with a free version...
I am using linkjuicer and very happy with it.

Links not just boost the navigation, time on site, pages viewed per user, but reduce bounce and Hype up your Page Authority and Domain Authority. All of these will factor as heavy in getting quoted results in AI Search as they do in Meta Search. You my friend are ahead of the game and for those who say don't link too much I say Wikipedia Duh!!!
Yep...
Well... I am using link juicer plugin... and it adds a lot of internal links.
Also Yarpp (related posts) plugin. ..

But I totally agree. I just haven’t wrote enough articles to start linking like mad a woman, yet. So, I am writing like the Mad hatter that I may back link later like a Toon (Looney).
Use some free linking plugins...
like link whisperer or link juicer (both come in free versions)
Also add related posts (yarpp free plugin)
🤗 Fleeky
Thanks for the tips! 👍
