What is a staging website

Imagine you're a chef about to debut a fancy new dish. Before serving it to your guests, you'd want to make sure everything tastes just right, wouldn't you? You'd probably try out the recipe in the safety of your kitchen first, tweaking the ingredients until it's perfect. This "test kitchen" is essentially what a staging website is, but for web development.

A staging website is a clone of your live website that serves as a testing ground. It's where all the new features, updates, and bug fixes are tested to ensure everything works as intended before making these changes live to the public.

Think of it as the dress rehearsal before the big show. It looks and feels like your actual website (the final dish), but it's hidden from the audience (your users), allowing developers and site admins to safely test everything from new plugins, site redesigns, to major updates without risking the stability or functionality of the live site.

This approach helps catch any issues that could disrupt user experience, ensuring that when your website's visitors arrive, they're met with a flawless performance. Just like how you'd want your guests to remember the dish for its exquisite taste and not for an unexpected dash of too much salt!

A web designer setting up his staging site, dressed as a clown. It's a unusual blend of web development and circus elements, designed to add a dash of humor to the serious task of website testing. I hope this brings a smile to your face and adds a bit of fun to the concept of staging sites!

Hope it added a sprinkle of fun to your day!

Now tell me, did you ever use staging sites.
And if so, what is your advice when using one?

PS

If you need a staging site, ask site support to set up one for you.

Thank you!

Tim 🎼

πŸ˜€πŸ‘ ty Tim

Thanks for each day information !!

You really like this.
Keep learning!

Now tell me, what would you like me to write about code ?
πŸ€—πŸ˜€

Hello Fleeky and all WA Families
Here I don't want to go without saying how much I appreciate sharing ideas with families already at wealtht affiliate. Then, as I am new in wealthy affiliate, I read it after I finished explaining my promotional work to others and the question of what do you want me to write in relation to the code caused me to raise this idea; that is, the people we share information about wealthy affiliate with, especially the concerns they have in relation to fraud, mainly in relation to payment at the premium level. If there is a control strategy to prevent their account from being hacked, it would be useful to share back. I would love to get ideas about this?! Thank you !!

If I understand you well Samuel, you are seeking Insights on Security and Fraud Prevention at Wealthy Affiliate to reassure potential members about account safety and fraud prevention. Right?

What raises this concern Samuel?

As I tried to mention before , The question I forwarded is from someone whom I have been telling about WA .

Ok... i understand

when telling a friend, you best use your link with your affiliate identity which you find under the dollar sign in the top bar.

It looks like this:
a_aid=[your number]

When sharing a wa post on social media, you best do this:

And if your friend joined without you been given credit, it means, that your id was missing. I hope you will be granted! Best speak to Kyle.... if so, or Abbie
πŸ‘‹

I hope this answered your question... if not, let me know.
✨

That is not the case ... the sister whom I shared information about WA via my link address had been struggling to click and go through , what she told me about hacking was due to her suspicions of past experience of certain online business , and I think we have finally come to common understanding and she promised me to go through the free domain to get a better knowledge about WA.

Thanks !! That is How I share WA to others !!This what I loved about WA families , to take care of one another :)

Ty Samuel... i have posted your suggestion in a blog, and hope your friend and others will get the answers they seek. ✨

Starting with the free domain and learning the basics is a very wise first step. Also know that black friday comes with a huge discount. Good luck to both of you. πŸ‘‹βœ¨

Thanks sister and WA families !!

Welcome

Thanks, now I have a clown image associated with my staging site. .lol.

A great tool, one that I use as well.

Rudy

πŸ˜€ Tell me... what is your advice?

By having a cloned site, you can work out any details that before making any changes on that site.

Im going to ask site support to set me up with a few staging sites to do sone major overhauling.

Mainly, switching from classic to block editor, which is the easy part.

However, I also use Elementor and there are some issues Im having with certain components, like footer links not appearing, and my template for subscriber signup, are not visible.

The other option would be to be Under Maintenance', which isnt a bad option for a couple of days, but I know it will take longer to get everything running smoothly.

On a positive note, Ive received comments, something new as I never requested them before.

Anyway, thats my take in using a staging site.

Rudy

Yes, that makes sense indeed.
Using the staging as a testing before implementing changes.
Thanks for adding!

Did you try the new hub environment... ?

Yep, I have. My first article written was indexed within 2 days!

Rudy

Wow
Congrats!

I revived an old site, and google keeps adding non existing pages. I hope they use their cache from time to time to clean up non existing stuff... πŸ˜‰

Thanks!

Weird that google would add non existing pages..

Rudy

The image is STRIKING lol.

Lol
Thought so
πŸ˜‚

Lol, You're awesome :) πŸ˜‚

Wow, top-notch blog post :)

Did you ever use one...

I did, it ruined all my links
😝

Yep, I did. It didn't work out either...

Yuk
πŸ₯Έ

I gained experience :) I think that's what's about, lol

uh what did you learn?

Um, I think I've gained some debugging skills. I have a knack for troubleshooting issues, such as plugin conflicts and theme errors, though I'm not as proficient with databases (I lack knowledge in this area).

πŸ’ͺπŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜±

Ok, noted
😌

Np :) I even had trouble figuring out the standard Database sheets. I think I am not made for this.

It is called db engineer for a reason...

I guess, lol πŸ‘πŸ€”
