Working Hard and Trying Not to be a Sad SAC

I must admit, I'm stealing an idea from a couple of people. Since we have to write a blog per week for SAC, it seems that a progress report is a good thing. I get to crowd a couple of weeks into one, as have not done such a blog yet.

Okay, let's see -- when the challenge started, I had the small beginnings of a website promoting WA. I had the "About Me" and the Privacy Policy on there. It took me 3 1/2 days to write my WA review.

I decided to start my writing by posting about some things you need for a new website: Since my "niche" is building a home business, I wrote a post about what you'd need for a home office, and what it would be like. I wrote one on finding your why (your purpose) and one on goal-setting.

Now the reviews are staring me in the face. Thank goodness WA is done. I've started on Jaaxy, and am about half done. The reviews are the things I'll need to work on most, because they are a little different style of writing. Jes' the facts, ma'am.

I found a header and then did a logo on Canva. Now I can't figure out how to get my logo on to my website. It must be possible to put it in a corner of my header somewhere, but I can't figure out how to move it. At present, it is in my sidebar.

Meanwhile, trying to keep up with my 3-day rule for my other website. I've kept to that

schedule. I put a new post up today. On that website, which is about cats, I've had a great breakthrough.

Was accepted to the Cat Writer's Association, and have sent out a questionnaire to a bunch of the members. Will have to send more. Asked questions about who they were, what they did, where they are from, and most important, a list of the books they have written, plus a Google-type snippet.

I have the first seven back, and will be putting that post up on Friday. At least I am familiar enough with the routine on that website that it is fairly easy to keep up.

Back to the WA site: I've put my categories in the top navigation bar, though they aren't set in stone. At least I know how to change, add and subtract from them.

I spent my 15 minutes in chat today. Donnie Norton should be pleased to hear that. After being leery about it, I've decided I like it, as got quick answers to a couple of questions. Okay, I'll chat.

I also answer a large number of WA emails each day.

My big bugaboo will be those reviews, until I do a few -- then they will be easier. Now that you have been informed of my progress, I'll go back to working on that darned Jaaxy review. At least I've found I now know more about Jaaxy than I ever did. That is a good thing.

It's a good thing I have a cat again, because he comes in and tells me when it is mealtime and when it is time to go to bed. If it weren't for him, I might never eat or sleep.

Hope all of you are progressing nicely. Thanks for being there.

... "We Will - We Will ROCK THIS THING !!!"

Regards

Well done! Sounds like you´re doing great. May I ask what is the 3-day rule? Sorry if that was already explained, I have missed it.

I'm curious too. From the context, it sounds like the rule is to publish a post every three days

The three-day rule is my own thing. I post to my niche website every 3 days. Keeps me on track. No ones rule but my own.

Just explained it...it is my own rule for my niche website. To keep myself on track, I publish a new post every three days.

Ok thank you! Sounds like a good phase to publish. That kind of rule works too, I now have a goal to publish at least 2 posts a week.

Well, you are moving forward. I should do more, but with two websites am lucky to do 3 a week.

Love the pun in your title 😀

Wow, you are really busy. I'm watching Jay's video on Canva and then will attempt to create a logo. This should be interesting. I didn't like my free theme so I purchased one today. Not sure if that was a good thing, but, I like it. I think the framework will be a challenge as my site is little willy nilly right now.

We will get there, you'll see!

Canva is fun to play with. I think you will enjoy it.

Well done! You are well on your way. I’m a bit stalled as a few ‘things’ have derailed me, but hopefully be back on track soon.
Reviews are my nemesis too!
Congratulations on the acceptance into the Cat Writers Association.
That sounds so exciting!

Ooh, yes, those reviews! Hope they get easier.

Trying to get past my block...writing a review on Jaaxy, and am determined to get most of it done today.

You are doing absolutely great, Fran!
Congratulations on being accepted to the Cat Writer's Association. That is a big deal.
We are right next to you with our noses to the grindstone.

Thanks...yes, CWA is helping me out a great deal. I have 7 interviews for the first blog. With 150 members, I should be able to get quite a few more.

Oh Fran! You're doing wonderful :)
I've had the darnedest time ever since being accepted into SAC...I started out all gung-ho and made it to Rank 123 and then I stopped being active on here to focus on my site and lost focus. Being active within the community is what truly motivates me; we are in this together :)

Going forward, but hope the reviews get easier.

That's a great achievement already done, I hear you about writing review, I had the same struggle a week ago, I was writing my first review and didn't know how to handle it, indeed it's a different way to write an article than writing a review, it took me three days to do it but I finally was happy with my first review and I am ready to start another one.
Everything takes consistent hard work and staying believing in yourself.

Ha ha as long as your cat doesn't sleep on your face!

No, but he gets pretty darned close.
