They Tell Us Laughter Is The Best Medicine

Today's quote: Laughter is the shortest distance between two people. — Victor Borge

This quote hits the proverbial nail in just the right place. Nothing can connect you faster with another than laughter. Nothing can defuse a difficult situation better than finding a cause for laughter.

We find so much tension and stress in the world today, and if we can find any reason to laugh at our situations or ourselves, we can help release some of that negativity. Ah, yes, what better way to return to positive than to laugh?

Learn to laugh at yourself. Why take your role in the world too seriously? When you laugh, you release a positive force into your life that can overcome many difficulties. You can return to a place of warmth and light merely by laughing.

Laughter can become your life vest in a time when you seem to be drowning in a sea of sorrow. It can lighten your load and also help those around you to see things in a more positive light. It's a sound that reverberates through your soul.

When you laugh, you become relaxed and receptive to positivity. Such action allows you to remember that this, too, shall pass. Remember that tragedy has one face, but if you turn it around, it can result in comedy.

That's not to say that there isn't pain and suffering in the world. However, to help dissipate these two at least for a moment, find a reason to laugh. That happy sound can temporarily give you breathing space.

I find so many good quotes that it is often hard to choose, so will close with another: Laughter is God’s hand on the shoulder of a troubled world. — (Bettenell Huntznicker) Let your laughter help with the healing process.

Absolutely spot on as always my friend!

Laughter or at least making others smile can have a huge impact on ones life...

I like to think of myself as a fairly humorous guy... and when what I say or do brings out smiles and laughter in others, the same happens to me ten fold!

I hope you are keeping warm up there Fran and have a super start to the weekend!!

😁🤣

I'm very warm, now that my stoves are all working. I do plan to have a good weekend. Thanks!

That is fantastic news to hear Fran and you're most welcome my friend!

Awww, Frank, I love this so much. I love the two cutie pie children. I love the quotations and most of all, I resonate with what you have written. A scripture in the Bible says, "Laughter does good, like medicine." That literally means it had healing power.

Hazel

Thank you, Hazel. I do believe laughter has healling power.

By the way, my name is Fran, and the "k" at the end stands for my last name, Kelso.

Endorphins are released when we laugh. Yup...and I knew that about your name, Fran. Did not mean to make it all one name. My apologies for that.

Hazel

Oh, re: the name -- well, you are not the first one who has done the same. No prob.

Let's hear it for endorphins!

Love this, Fran!

I think it is laughter, music, dancing and love. 😁🙂

Thank you for sharing.

Cassi

Nice list, Cassi! Thank YOU for sharing.

I totally agree with this, Fran. When we laugh, even at the bad things, we are much more productive and much better off.

Jeff🤣🤣🤣

Laughter is certainly a force for good.

Jeff, are you still doing daily blogs? For some reason, I'm not getting them.

Yes, Fran, it is, and also, I have not missed a blog post for over 1,200 days. You might need to check your settings. This happens sometimes.

Jeff

Okay, wil do. Wanted to check with you first.

Thanks, Fran.

Jeff

Hi Fran,

Yes, for sure.

My late Dad always used to say ever since I was a kid that laughter is the best medicine. He was right. He always made me laugh with his jokes and wild ornery sense of humor.

Thanks for sharing this today.

A sense of humor is a great gift. Some folks just don't have it. You were lucky to learn about the importance of laughter from your dad.
