Some Things I've Learned From My Cat

This cat certainly looks like my Pogo, right down to the few white hairs on his chest.

My cat teaches me many things. I learn from observing his behavior.

He knows when to get up. I don't need an alarm clock. He sleeps right next to me; in the morning he climbs out of my bed at 7:30, whether I am ready to get up or not. He keeps me on schedule.

He reminds me to eat a satisfying breakfast. How can I forget when he notifies me and then waits impatiently until I prepare it?

He is fastidious about cleanliness, so it behooves me to make sure his litter box is clean when he's ready for it It reminds me to think ahead and do the necessary chores that need doing to prepare for my day.

Even though Pogo is an old cat (like me) he is still curious about the world. As he is quite cautious in his old age, his curiosity doesn't get him in trouble, but helps him to learn what is going on around him.

Our curiosity can lead us to new discoveries and new ideas that can help the content of our websites. Curiosity can stimulate imagination, which is a quality that can add a great deal to our writing and to building an effective way to attract visitors.

Of course, we need to supply folks with the facts, but our imagination can enhance our writing ideas so people are drawn to what we publish

My cat also reminds me to get sufficient rest. He'd like me to sleep with him all day if I would! That's not going to happen -- but I do t try to get sufficient sleep so I can deal with the next day with a clear head.

He keeps his "tools" sharp and ready for work. So must we keep our computer always at the ready, and our supply needs (such as paper for the printer) filled; our minds sharp and ready to write.

He takes brief breaks to play. We need to do the same.

My cat -- and any other cat --can teach persistence. If a cat wants something -- for example, to get you out of bed in the morning so you will feed him -- he contrives various clever and sometimes very original methods to accomplish his plan and then he never quits until he succeeds.

We must be the same way with our websites. We must try various ways of reaching success until we find one that works, and then we must not quit until we've attained our goal.

My cat is my great helper. I'm sure I can succeed if I just follow his guidelines.

What a wonderful post.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. I love cats too.

Sound advice. Get curious is a great message.

Many thanks to you, Louise

Cats can be great teachers, and great companions, too.

Great cat. Coincidentally, I just added a cat image on my website too.

I have lots of them on my "niche" site as it is about cats.

What a beautiful cat. I think animals and children are our best teachers and often also best friends.
I've had many cats. Damian, our oldest, lived 15 years with us. Then we had Gizmo, Sheldon, Mina and Lumpik. I loved them all. Now we have just one dog.
You are lucky to have such a friend and helper, Fran!

Interesting cat names 😎👌

Yes, I am...actually also lucky that he sleeps all afternoon, so I can get lots done.

I love the animals. It shows that you have a very intelligent cat as its owner. I often think that they are better than human beings.
I also suffer a lot when they leave us.
Take care Fran!

I agree...they may get a bit bloodthirsty when they are hunting, but, hey, that's survival. We have not learned to love unconditionally as animals do. My cat is a blessing.

My small cat, formerly a street cat in Mexico, taught me not to let any large animals boss me around. Hey, she terrified our Rottweiler!

Good for that cat! Mine will hide under the bed if someone gets bossy.
