My SAC Progress, With Five Days To Go
Before I start outlining my progress, I want to say something to those of you who have trouble writing. A friend was just discussing writing on a post today, and he was making the point that you cannot improve your writing unless you write.
Like anything else, practice makes perfect. Just write. Do a stream of consciousness exercise where you write whatever comes out. Then see if you can structure what you wrote into something intelligible. It just takes practice.
This blog is an example. I do not know what is going to appear on this page next, because I am just writing; just letting thoughts flow. You get the results.
Now, on to my SAC progress. I am working on my 12th post -- hallelujah! I have it written and have images ready to go. I just have to do some editing and it will be done.
I've been trying to get some other things done. Finally got a business page up on FB for my WA website. It's been a bit of a challenge. For some reason, they would not accept my page title, and assigned me a number -- 033 -- for a title. I messaged them and they would not change it. Finally I canceled the whole page and started over.
The second time they got it right. I got my cover picture on there, put on a couple of posts, and sent notifications about the page to over 100 people. Today I changed my profile picture from the old one to the one I am using on here.
Funny, how a little thing can become a challenge. I discovered I had no copy of my profile picture from here saved. So I dragged the one off here, edited it, and put it on my FB page. Done and done.
Today I also have to find a new topic for the cat website. That will take some Google work.
Thanks to the SAC, I have found that chat can be quite helpful, because you can get an answer to a problem much faster than by submitting a question on here. Live and learn.
Oh, yes -- got my cumbersome menu on the cat site redone, thanks to help from Marion Black. She gave me a little line -- not exactly of code -- or maybe it was -- but instructions that I was able to use on my theme to remove a search bar that was in the way. I am pleased with the results.
Let's see -- in the middle of all that had to go to Juneau to get a crown prep, and ended up getting a root canal. Not the best of all possible days.
As an added activity, our Saturday craft market has started, so that takes care of my Saturdays. I have to be out there selling jewelry and boxes. It helps, though, to have a little money coming in. The first Saturday was a bit sparse, but I still made $150.00.
At this point, my stock is all paid for, so that's pretty much profit.
I spent some time working on site speed, and managed to improve my speed on the cat site quite a bit. It still needs a bit of help, but it is better.
Got accepted in the Pinterest "rich pins" program and will be getting those started in the next few days. I think I'll keep my focus on Pinterest and Facebook, for now.
Okay, that's long enough. It's all you get for today. I have to get to work on that last post. Hope your day is going well. When I lived on Spruce Island, I used to say, "Each day is a new little life." I like that concept, and hope your little lives today give you pleasure and treasure.

You're doing great. Thanks for that writing tip. Some days can be a struggle, but when it comes to me, I usually can't sleep till it's done.
I'm going to see if you have a link to your cat site. Our middle daughter, I'm always joking with her that she's one cat shy of the crazy cat lady. Even turned her bf into a cat person, who at one point did not like cats. How can you not like cats???

When I first started writing, it was hard and I had a lot of writers block. Now I write great because I started writing every day!
Thanks for sharing Fran. Appreciate the update, so glad to hear that you're finishing this month well. I will remember what you said that if you're having problems writing just start writing, letting the thoughts flow.

Yes, writing is like exercise. You have to do it regularly to get better.

Me, too. Sometimes these reviews are very helpful to the writer. You go along stressing because you don't feel you have made much progress. but then you write a review and realize you have gotten quite a bit done.
