Growth Is Change - Are You Growing?
Think about this quote: “Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.” (From the poet, Rumi)
What are we capable of doing? We might make a positive influence on the world if we can remain positive. However, if we want to make resounding changes, we can start with self-analyzation.
Are we operating as our best self? Do we understand our own minds? Do we know what moves us to action? Do we have the attitude and self-image that will help us reach success?
Do we know what we want? Perhaps in our hurry to get a business up and running, we have not thought out thoroughly where we want to go. To develop the qualities needed to succeed, we must first have a strong motive to reach our goal.
Setting up a plan, even though not quite complete, helps establish the habit of persistence. Make that plan a sound one, based on experience or observation. Use your will-power to develop the habit of concentrating your thoughts on your plan.
Find a mentor who travels the same road. There are good choices for mentors within our community. Having someone who will listen, advise without discouraging, and cheer us on in our journey can be very helpful.
Then, believe in yourself and the value of your ideas. Always move toward what you want, even though in small increments. Remember that the one thing over which you have complete control are your thoughts. Make them powerful ones!

I chart my daily /weekly and monthly progress
It make me smile when I look at how far I've become
It also makes me excited as I view my timeline on my vision board and observe what I've accomplished so far and how much more I have to go and do to achieve my visualization
Great techniques -- any method you can use to chart progress can be useful, and, yes, it's good to see how far you have come. Keep it up -- you are doing great!

I believe that any day we haven't learnt at least one thing new and grown is a day wasted...
Having fantastically laid out plans is one thing, but if we don't follow up on them by taking action, they are not worth the paper written on!
We are most definitely the only ones who have control over us, no one else will do the work for us (well, unless we pay them handsomely maybe)!

Thank you so much. Yes, we must take responsibility for our own actions, and change them if they are counterproductive.
I think, at times, that I am growing, Fran. but I tend to take one day at a time to measure this.

Hi Fran,
Your post reminded me when there was no Internet like today. When I drove to work and back I listened to tapes to help me improve myself. Brian Tracy was my favorite.
They all had a common message. We needed to achieve positive change in ourselves before we could help others. That message resonates today even more so with the incredible speed of change.

Hey, Edwin, me, too...Used to have to drive 15 miles to Kodiak each morning to open my shop. I always listened to motivational tapes. At that time, they were from Nikken, and that's how I got addicted to Bob Proctor, as he made several tapes for us. Yes, same positive messages, but a great way to get the mind in the proper mindset.
