Getting Things Done
Getting Things Done
Juggling all the things we have to do in a day is a real task. But there is a way with less stress thanks to Dave Allen's excellent book called "Getting Things Done". You may have heard of it before or even read it being an all time productivity classic.
I find the topics Dave writes about really do work. I have read it many times, and listen to the audio book too. Each time I truly get something from it. He has so many little productivity golden nuggets and easy ways to implement them into our lives. I particularly like the way he recommends having collection buckets, and I have them all over the house. It helps gather all the information we are bombarded with each day for easy ways to collect and review.
Dave Allen's three-minute rule is quite ingenious too. If a task can be completed within three minutes, don't put it off just or do it!
He advises clearing the clutter out of our lives so we can have a mind like water. This can improve productivity no end and keep the stress down too.
Having a weekly review is a great idea. Vic (filbs71) and me have our weekly review each Sunday to see what we have done and what needs to be done the following week.
So if you have a copy, read it again. If not, buy it.
It is written by a productivity genius with over 30 years experience.

Kind of like when I used to play pool and we would say "Put down the Cripples". Meaning take the easy shots and the rough ones will be come easier. I know, it wasn't a very politically correct thing to say but hey, what-cha going to do with a bunch of rowdy kids. Ha-ha. Great Post
I am a great fan of clearing clutter another book I recommend is Space Clearing by Karen Kingston see link below
