Are You Really? Realy Sick of the Monday J.O.B. Blues?

Hello, My Friend…

If you must know, I am on my way toward my 4th retirement.The last one was nearly 20 years ago! But my Monday J.O.B. blues are still terribly vivid:

1.-Confirm travel plans: Airlines, Hotels and Car;

2.-Pack personal stuff and Business Presentations;

2.-Sunday PM or Monday AM rush to fly wherever;

3.-Hop from plane-to-plan to final destination;

4.-Appointments changed without telling me;

5.-Meeting places “didn’t know” I was coming;

6.-Making the best of “fluid” situations, “rubber chicken” meals and noisy 4-Star hotel rooms;

7.-Expense receipts, mileage traveled and other things for reimbursement or tax records; and,

8.-Finally, Fri PM or Sat AM back home worn out!

Not being an “easily depressible” guy, I survived but barely. But, somehow, I managed to repeat the deed 3 times because I knew no other way to carry one my entrepreneurship, until 1998 and 2013!

After my 3rd retirement, I re-started my consulting practice and in 1998 I put it on the Web. I soon signed more projects from the Web than by personal selling.

But equally as many calls and e-Mails came to me for help from Online Marketers or those wanting to get into Online Business.

As a life-long Consultant and MBA in Finance, I knew plenty about the brick and mortar business.But I had no clue about business on the Worldwide Web.In fact back in 1998, I didn’t even know anybody was doing such a thing!

Fortunately, my first Online Business client had struggled for years in the old fashion catalogue mail order business. But printing, postage, and advertising and order fulfillment got so high, he could barely pay the bills now. He wondered how he could put his Mail Order on the Web, without the hassle and costs eating his lunch!

He tried finding help on the Web and only succeeded in attracting a goodly share of coaching gurus. They only told him what he needed to do. Nothing was said about how, since the gurus’ business was what they called best practices in done-for-you basis. It would cost him more than printing, postage and advertising! When he found my e-Mail, he told them I’ll call you soon but called me instead!

Professional Affiliation Code of Ethics…

He was half right when he said he knew consultants showed clients how to do things. I told him I didn’t know what to do Online. He offered to show me what if I would show him how to do MO Business Online.

As my professional Code called for, I tried to be honest and ethical with him. He reciprocated and urged me to take his case, offered to bring all his stuff from somewhere in Ohio and spend 2 days showing me what so I could find out how and get him on the Web fast!

Neither he nor I knew about affiliate marketing so I tried to set my fee at $400 per hour on a basic agreement of 8 weeks, 25% down and payment weekly as I would render approved statements for work completed.

The total project cost was outrageous for the old fashion Mail Order entrepreneur, used to dealing only on commission sales. He offered me 35% commission on all company sales, commencing on the 60th day from contract date!

This Fellow Had A Great Set Up Already…

1.-Customer List of 20,000;

2.-A Homely but great 30-page catalogue with great images;

3.-He was already selling $425,000 per year …some real money!

3.-He was mailing to the List every 3 months;

4.-He had learned it all from Lillian Vernon’s and The Mellinger Company of the old days!

Best I Knew What To Do Was Call a Friend in The Business…

My friend and Consulting Client gave me a bucket list and said if I ran into hassles …Call Him Posthaste!

A.-Make him A Plan…

1.-Said, create him a series of 7 e-Mails and e-Mail all 20,000 List announcing the Website to take the place of the MO Catalogue;

2.-Have him purchase a Domain Name;

3.-Help him build a Website …as if it was his MO Catalogue;

4.-Create him a Blog similar to your Practice Newsletter;

B.-Help him with the Execution Strategy; and, Become his Affiliate in lieu of charging him a Consulting Fee …you’ll make more money!

a.-e-Mail every day for 7 days to the 20k List, wait 3 days before starting again and repeat mailings;

b.-The Domain Name should reflect his MO Name/Catalogue;

c.-The Website should feature his products in place of the MO Catalogue; and,

d.-Help him convert his Monthly Newsletter into a Blog and blog 3 times per week …use Opt-in Capture page to keep his List current.

He Drove All The Way From Loraine, Ohio…

When my client got the Plan and the Execution Strategy all in PowerPoint and living color and a CD of it for his own Computer, he just stuff his car with bales of his mail order stuff and drove all the way from Loraine, Ohio to see me in Texas. He was so enthused, he forgot to call me in advance …he just showed up at my door one morning at 07:00 hours.

My consulting client, as a licensed insurance broker (affiliate), showed me what Affiliate Marketing was and how to turn this project into a commission sales (affiliate) goldmine!

With my client’s $425k annual sales coming in, a List of 20k actual customers and the client’s Monthly Newsletter, my Affiliate Marketing position was the best business deal I’ve ever seen in all my years and something I’ve not seen since.
