Had a chance to talk for 2 hours with a very successful internet marketer yesterday. The conversation was peek into his attitudes and daily work habits. The picture I got was a dynamo of energy who is confident he's going to make money - every day! . And, he does! Lots of it!
His ways of thinking and what he does can teach us a lot about how to be successful. I think we'll all learn faster when we can put ourselves in his seat. And, not continue on just blind faith. .

He'd be a terrible student at WA
He doesn't know much about web sites, or anything technical. In fact, he only has a high-school education. He finds "juicy" offers and transforms them into "Landing Pages" with Attention Getting Headlines, Calls to Action, etc.
His says his primary job is find and creating unique selling proposals. In other words, deals that convert to sales and importantly profits. "The rest is details." "I can always buy traffic." He hires bloggers, uses Other People's Lists (OPL) methods, and such. He manages his hand-selected group of independent workers from ODesk and Fiver.

Do-it-now attitude
Profit and loss evaluations are done daily, not every 6 months! Yes, he's buying traffic. Now, I'm not saying stop adding content to your web site or using Jaaxy to find "low hanging fruit." I'm highlighting one guys successful methods, hoping some of his do-it-now attitudes will rub off on us.
He takes risks hourly and must be right more often than wrong. Or, he's out of business. He's a marketer who is consistently taking chances and selling.
He doesn't get distracted because he knows who he is and what he has to do. And likes it.

- Getting traffic is not difficult if your site converts. Traffic can be bought.
Take-away.
We're marketers, not technicians. Don't let your lack of web site knowledge slow you down. What you're studying is how to be the center of a business that "moves and groves." Not sitting behind the desk all day thinking if I work long enough and hard enough success is bound to happen. It's not the answer!
Smother yourself with positive thoughts, learn how to package customer solutions in whatever form, budget your time, learn how and when to ask for help. And, get it often. This is what WA is really about. You're actually learning to be the leader and brains of your own company. Becoming a new computer geek will not get you to the promised land.
