How This Super Affiliate Makes A Lot of Money

Had a chance to talk for 2 hours with a very successful internet marketer yesterday. The conversation was peek into his attitudes and daily work habits. The picture I got was a dynamo of energy who is confident he's going to make money - every day! . And, he does! Lots of it!

His ways of thinking and what he does can teach us a lot about how to be successful. I think we'll all learn faster when we can put ourselves in his seat. And, not continue on just blind faith. .

He'd be a terrible student at WA

He doesn't know much about web sites, or anything technical. In fact, he only has a high-school education. He finds "juicy" offers and transforms them into "Landing Pages" with Attention Getting Headlines, Calls to Action, etc.

His says his primary job is find and creating unique selling proposals. In other words, deals that convert to sales and importantly profits. "The rest is details." "I can always buy traffic." He hires bloggers, uses Other People's Lists (OPL) methods, and such. He manages his hand-selected group of independent workers from ODesk and Fiver.

Here are his main job functions:

  • Selecting products to promote
  • Coming up with catchy Landing Pages copy
  • Working with contract help to design custom Landing Pages
  • Working with contract bloggers and web designers
  • Placing media buys for traffic.
  • Analysing profit and loss

Do-it-now attitude

Profit and loss evaluations are done daily, not every 6 months! Yes, he's buying traffic. Now, I'm not saying stop adding content to your web site or using Jaaxy to find "low hanging fruit." I'm highlighting one guys successful methods, hoping some of his do-it-now attitudes will rub off on us.

He takes risks hourly and must be right more often than wrong. Or, he's out of business. He's a marketer who is consistently taking chances and selling.

He doesn't get distracted because he knows who he is and what he has to do. And likes it.

Notes about our meeting. (Sorry, I'm a terrible note taker.)

  • 2% of marketers make 96% of the money.
  • If you don’t write down your goals in detail, you won’t achieve them.
  • What you feed your mind determines your success!
  • Biggest and most successful niches are health, relationships, money.
  • 15% succeed and 85% fail at IM
  • Positioning is everything - Do the opposite of the 85%
  • Promote yourself and show visitors why they should pay attention to you.
  • People join people, not companies
  • Know the goals of your customers and help them reach them.
  • Focus on your customers, not you making money.
  • Getting traffic is not difficult if your site converts. Traffic can be bought.

Take-away.

We're marketers, not technicians. Don't let your lack of web site knowledge slow you down. What you're studying is how to be the center of a business that "moves and groves." Not sitting behind the desk all day thinking if I work long enough and hard enough success is bound to happen. It's not the answer!

Smother yourself with positive thoughts, learn how to package customer solutions in whatever form, budget your time, learn how and when to ask for help. And, get it often. This is what WA is really about. You're actually learning to be the leader and brains of your own company. Becoming a new computer geek will not get you to the promised land.

"The biggest challenge in internet marketing is engagement and conversions. If I see a campaign convertings to sales and profits, I know I can "kill" if financially."

The thing I'm taking from this is that I need to sit down and focus on my goals. My #1 mistake of the past has been praying to the Google gods for free traffic. Moving forward I'm looking more at my visitors, how to provide them with what they want, and how to position myself against other marketers in the same niche.

Great stuff! The statistics look depressing until you remind yourself, "Why can't I be one of the 15 percent?" There's no reason you can't be, other than blocking yourself.

His genius is stripping his job down to the basics. Understanding his job. Accepting his role as the leader. Hiring on-line help. Having fun. And not letting anything distract him.

He calls a day with less than 100,00 visitors a vacation!

Very interesting information, thanks for sharing. I was particularly interested in the mindset of this guy, for the mind is where his beliefs and attitude originate, and those are followed by actions. It is also the reason behind the statistics, because most people do not know how to use their minds effectively, and sadly, we are not taught this in school. I hope that this will eventually change - it will, as more and more information and evidence is coming to the fore.

This was very motivational for me, as I'm a 'mind student', you might say ;o)

Interesting you mention the mindset. He says a must for all marketers are these two books, "You Were Born Rich" and "Secrets of the Millionaire Mind." What they say is not what you may think. They're about focusing on providing service for others and the money will take care of itself.

Thanks, yes, that's a great concept to keep in mind. There's actually a course by Bob Proctor called "You Were Born Rich", besides a book.
There's a great recording on this subject by Earl Nightingale, found freely available on the net. WA won't let me post the URL link, but if you search on YouTube for 'The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale', you'll find it if interested.

As you can tell. I'm stoked today! I'm rearranging my working space to be a "war room" and transferring my internet to a big-screen. I've just hung a white board. My Google docs have been rearranged to begin working like him. Big Light Bulb day for me.

How about visualizing yourself more successful. How would you dress? How would you feel? How would feel helping so many people. If you can't visualize it, it won't happen.

When the Internet Marketer said "traffic can be brought", was he specifically referring to Google AdWords, or was he referring to paying for content to be written around specific keywords... or was he referring to something additional to these as well? Thanks again.

He wasn't specifically referring to Google Adwords. He uses OPL (Other People's Lists) for testing because it's a less expensive method of testing a Landing Page. If he doesn't get the conversion and profit numbers he needs, he changes the message or moves on. Yes, he hires others to do his blogging.
