Focus on Building Relationships, Not Rankings

Why building relationships is the key to your online success

How can you rank higher in Google? The answer to this question is not always the best one. Sure, it's great to be on page one of Google for your business keywords, but that doesn't mean anything if people don't like what they see. Ranking high in Google is only part of the battle; you also need to focus on building relationships with new and old customers alike.

As a blogger, you should be concentrating on building relationships rather than rankings. Rankings are important and they will help your blog rank higher in the search engine results pages (SERPS). But, as we all know too well, what goes up must come down. Sooner or later someone else with more time will outrank you. If you want to have an impact on your readership, concentrate on being their friend first and foremost so that they will stick around even when the rankings change.

Why you should focus on relationships, not rankings

No matter how hard you try, it is difficult to build a relationship with someone who doesn't even know your name. The same concept applies to search engine rankings- if you're not ranking highly on Google's SERP, then your chances of getting organic traffic are slim. However, if you focus on building relationships first and foremost, the rankings will come naturally once people start talking about your business.

We all know that rankings are important. The higher your website ranks, the more traffic you will get and the better your chances of making sales. So, it is only natural to want to rank as high as possible on Google's search engine. But what happens when you start focusing so much on ranking well in Google’s algorithm? You lose sight of building relationships with people!

The first step is to stop obsessing about rankings.

That's right, stop ranking for keywords that are not relevant to your business or industry. You may find you rank better for "ice cream" than "snow removal," but if you're a snow removal company then it's time to move on from this keyword.

The next step is finding what people are saying about your business through social media and other platforms. Find out the questions they have and answer them in a way that makes them feel like they can trust your advice or products. It doesn't matter how many followers you have if no one trusts what you say!

If you could talk to your website, what would it say?

The most important thing to remember about SEO is that it's all about relationships. The relationship between your business and the people who are using Google, Yahoo, Bing, or any other search engine to find you. You want those searchers to see your website as a place they can go for what they're looking for rather than just another site with nothing of value to offer them.

What is the most important thing to you in your life? Is it money, success, or something else? The answer may be different for everyone. But if we were to examine what drives us and our decisions in life one of the common factors would be relationships. Whether we like it or not, humans are social creatures and thrive on interaction with others.

This is why relationship building should be a priority when working on SEO strategies for your website. We all want to feel loved and accepted by others; this can also translate into how people view your business online. So instead of focusing solely on rankings, put more emphasis on building relationships through content marketing techniques such as blogging and social media!

Yes indeed Jeff, the money will follow once we establish that relationship.
