Resurrection Life!
A year and a half ago we set out on a great adventure...We sold our house and took to the road full-time in our RV (some call it a recreational vehicle, ours is a Resurrection Vehicle).
Starting in Indiana, we headed south in the fall for Nashville, TN further south for the winter of 2014 near Lake Okeechobee, FL. Then we headed to the northeast to visit family in PA and NJ before driving across the country to the bay area in CA. Spent last winter in NV, headed to Phoenix for a month and now we are in San Diego. (it is beautiful here BTW)
Indiana was not our home or final stop on this side of eternity, but it is where we learned about our eternal security in Christ. Our church family adopted us and showed us love we had not seen before. Then one year the praise and worship leader asked me if "Pastor had talked to me yet?"
"About what?" I asked
"He wants you to play Jesus in the Easter play." was his reply
Wha-wha-WHAT?!?!?!!?!?!!!
I am no actor! But I am a servant. I know and trust my Pastor so if he is asking, I believe that HE is asking.
The first year was not a lot of lines (thankfully for me) - but it was still terrifying and humbling. The musical gifts and talent of the members of our church is amazing. Me...I can't sing and didn't have to. The next couple of years added more lines and I actually had to learn how to learn lines LOL.
For the last 2 seasons I have not been there to serve in this role and it is bitter sweet. It never got easier and I am not sharing this because I think I am anything special to the role.
I do know that I am special to God though and so is all of His creation. Through His supreme example of humbling Himself to serve up the only solution to sin and death, we can rest in His grace eternally.
I was born on August 17, 1972, but my life began on April 6, 2008
I am fortunate and grateful that my wife of almost 18 years and I now share that same new Birthday.
Truth is not relative or else there is no truth.
