Do This to Be 2X More Productive!

The easiest way to get stuff done when you're working from home... is to get out of the house!

I've found that I can get twice as much work done when I take my laptop with me to either Starbucks or the library or wherever and just sit uninterrupted to work.

It makes a big difference!

  • Where's your go-to spot for working uninterrupted?
  • Do you have your own sanctuary inside your house that acts as a "Do Not Disturb" spot?
  • How often do you escape to your sanctuary on a weekly basis?

Hello Eric!
For me I am more productive when in the very early morning, when everyone is asleep.
When I am in my work mode, I don’t want to see people, so home office is where I am good at.
I live in the country, and people are chatty, even though you don’t know them. As I hate to be rude and provide them short responses. So I would rather be left in my own world in the stillness of time.
Then when people in my household starts waking up, that’s my sign to go to bed!

See you in class Eric!

Cheers,
Maria 🌹

See you in class!

Good morning Eric,

Thank you for the advice, it's appreciated.

I know where you are coming from; sometimes a change of scenery is like a welcome break or a production break! The only thing is that I use Dragon NaturallySpeaking which likes the quiet zone, a bit like me!

I have a home office with my desktop computer. However, sometimes I will go downstairs and listen and watch some training on my laptop, even that acts like a change of scenery!

I like to rise at 5 AM in the morning, it doesn't always work, but it does give me a good couple of hours without any disturbances.

Wishing you a great day.

Roy

Keep up the good work!

Thank you, Eric!

A very happy Thursday to you.

Roy

Hey Eric, we don't at the moment. Hence, her 18-year-old daughter constantly interrupts us, and she does NOT understand that we are actually working. We are planning to have a more private setup soon, hopefully by the end of this year. I haven't tried a restaurant for this. Maybe it could be a great idea. I need to get a laptop first, as I'm using a PC at the moment. She (my fiancee has a laptop though).

A restaurant, coffee shop, or any place without distractions can work great! And yeah, the 18 year olds rarely understand when you're working, lol

Thanks a lot for this helpful info! I will definitely have this opportunity soon once we live a 5-minute walk away from most of the shops and restaurants. It is a small quiet village on the outskirts with hardly any noise.

Great tip, Eric!

There's a nice quiet little place I go when the weather is nice. It has a picnic table in the shade with an ocean view. When I'm done working, I text my wife, and we take a little walk around the park, so it's exercise, too. 😎

See you tomorrow night.

Rock On! 🤘

Sounds like an awesome spot! See you in class!

Currently my workspace is either on my bed, kicked back in a recliner, sitting on the couch or sitting out by the creek!

While I would like to have some uninterrupted time that usually doesn't happen because I have kids.

I have learned to just embrace the interruptions because one day I will miss it!

Just changing the environment from being inside to outside can make a big difference!

Very cool! The creek sounds awesome!

It is especially when it is flowing! There is something about flowing water! ❤️
