Struggling to find the time!
So I joined WA about 2 weeks ago and I'm already struggling to find the time in order to work on my website. Trying to work a full time job with demanding and varying shift patterns is getting the best of me. There's so much I still need to do with my site, and I have a plan as to how I'd like the finished site to be. But I'm just really struggling to put in the amount of time and effort as I'd like. I'm worried as I'm assuming you should be putting in the MOST amount of time at that the start, when the site is still developing.
So I guess I'm just looking for any tips on time management and to get a rough idea of how much time (ideally!) I should be putting in!
Many Thanks,
Emma

No matter what you do today, there will always be more to do tomorrow. So, even if you only devote 30 minutes a day to your site, it can be quite an accomplishment.
Yeah, I would be pretty happy with even 30 minutes a day! It's surprising how much you can accomplish in such a small period of time. I'll try my best to make that my minimum contribution a day!
Hi Emma
I was in the same boat as you and I wrote a similar blog to your and I received a reply back from StrategicSan and she wrote a blog regarding time management this might help. "Time Management 4 Online Business Owners.
I remember reading abut an author. He had a demanding job but wanted t write a novel. His solution was to sleep less. He got up every morning two hours early. Then he spent every minute of that two hours writing. The commitment made him a best selling author. He was able to quite the demanding job.
The answer has aways been. How bad do you want it.
Well I'm not sure I'll ever do as well so that I can quit my job but you never know haha! Thanks for your advice..maybe I will have to sacrifice some sleep!
I am a work at home mom and wife. My family never leaves me alone, so I think I understand your dilemma. What works best for me is creating a list of what I want to accomplish today. Just for today. Then as I accomplish those things I tick them off. As far as your website, just focus on one area a day. If it is a day to write content, then build your outline for your post. Then write 200 words. Don't write any more. Proof read it. Put it away and later that day or even the next day, look it over again. If you like it, post it. If not, don't and redo it. I don't feel so hectic this way. This is what works for me.
Hope this helps

Hey, great advice Rae Anne! I will definitely try it out, hopefully I can stick to it haha! And I don't have kids as an excuse so just need to get a move on!
Don't sweat the small stuff. If you don't get something done on your list that you really wanted to, just move it to the next day's list. Easy peasy! Lol
To be honest.. do what you can when you can...
I also work full time and have little in the way of days off etc... but even if i can only manage half an hour it is better than nothing!!
The main thing is not to stop completely...
Thanks
Chris
Thanks Chris, its just very frustrating as my plans are flying out the window. But yeah, anything is better than nothing!
As RaeAnne rightly said.. just try to make targets... its a good point.. if you set a small goal each day and achieve it .. then you are making progress. Just try not to get too frustrated and find a little time when you can :)

It’s been a year since I joined but I haven’t moved on at all for lack of time and understanding SEO’s and how to use word Press and jaxxys. I’m having a hard time understanding terms too. And how to use word press on my niche.
