Hi everyone!
I need help! I just received an email from GoDaddy saying:
"your account contains more than 3025 directories and may pose a potential performance risk t
I also got it ... do NOT open ... I went to Go Daddy direct to see if there were any flags on my account - there were none ... it is NOT from Go Daddy ... Delete! .... Delete! .... Delete! M
I got that too! I researched a little and found it to be a phishing attack. Don't click on anything in that email!!!!
I don't know what it means, but GoDaddy has pretty good support. I've used them. However, in the future, as renewals come up on my older sites, they will be moved here to WA. I would call them and ask.
Thanks Carla. I called them this morning and they confirmed it was a phishing attack. Scary stuff!! Anyways, I've changed all my passwords so should be good now :) Lesson learned :)
Wow, scary stuff! I know about personal phishing scams, but not this type. I will remember to call any time anything weird comes up. Glad you got it sorted, Emma!
Yes, it's sad that you have to assume things are a scam. Yep, definitely will be calling next time. Thanks Carla for your support :)
I would contact support at GoDaddy and ask them to explain the problem. A lot depends on the type of account you have and how many domains and files you are allowed to have hosted there. I buy my domain names from GoDaddy but I have my hosting with HostGator. I pay less than $10.00 US a month and I can have unlimited domains and sub-domains.
You do know that as a premium member of WA you can have all your domains hosted here for free don't you? That could be the answer to your problem. ~Marion
Thanks Marion. Luckily I have my hosting with WA and NOT GoDaddy otherwise bye bye site! Phew, what a panicked morning lol
I have no idea what it means either, and as a laymen I most likely would look at NameCheap, their a hosting site as well, and ask them, and maybe even switch over, if thats possible, NameCheap has alot of features, pose the question to them, but in the mean time I'm sure someone in the community has an answer as well.
Good Luck emmae
Thanks! Yes it's a bit vague but alarming sounding lol. I shall check out namecheapsfyer this odd email!! Although godaddy is quite a bit cheaper - my domains only costed $1.20!

OH GOSH!!! Thank you all for warning me!!! However, I did panic last night so I DID open it and click on the link - AHHH!
But thanks to your advice and warnings, this morning I called GoDaddy and they said to just change my passwords. Thank GOD I didn't have hosting with them or else my website would have been held to ransom!
Thanks again and I have learnt my lesson.

Hi all!
I have just set up my email forwarding (from my website email to gmail).
Just wondering how long it will take to receive forwarded emails?
Thanks,
<Gmail is not very reliable. I have problems with both Gmail and Hotmail not coming through and I get error messages on Windows Live Mail about both of them. Stick with the WA email system. ~Marion
That's too bad. It works find forwarding to my gmail. Sometimes it does go into my spam folder though. Sorry it didn't work for you.
Thanks for your help. Yeah it's strange it wasn't cooperating, but that's okay. I'm always on WA anyway so will be fine to check the WA email :)
you should get it immediately. Test it...email yourself and see if you get the forwarded email right away...

Hello and thanks for helping out :)
I have 2 domain names to choose from, which should I buy.
Domain 1. Searches = 3,571, .com available, QSR = 79
Domain 2. Searc
No 1 but only because it has less competition I have .org domains it really has nothing to do with the domain extension its only the content that maters
My .org domain is now getting 150 visitors a day that's nearly 4000 per month the readers don't care about .org or .com they just want the solutions to their problems
Another example = Wikipedia is a .org extension just look how that site is no 1 for millions of search query's it has become one of the most successful websites in history
In affiliate marketing your success will depend on 1 thing and 1 thing only and that 1 things is, the ability to turn visitors into buyers
Focus on this and your bank account will get larger

I always go for the .com, as well. Besides, although I know it's supposedly losing the conception, .org was always reserved for charitable entities or non-profits. Unless that's what I was doing, I wouldn't want a .org. And most people still search for a .com. Good luck with it!
Always go for the .com in preference to the .org. People usually expect the website to be a .com and the uninitiated don't know the difference so they type in .com anyway. I wish I could get marionblack.com but someone else beat me to it, now it's for sale at a premium price. YUK! I've had to settle for marion-black.com and marionblack.co (not the same is it?)~Marion
Thanks for the advice Marion.
Oh what a shame someone beat you to the .com. You have a popular name! I like the marion-black.com. It looks good :)
Marion Black was/is an African-American soul singer (male) and I guess he or one of his fans bought the original marionblack.com Although the name Marion is not very common Robin Hood's lady was Maid Marion (or Marian) and John Wayne's original first name was Marion. Black is pretty common as blacksmith's were sometimes called "the black" which then became just Black. Trust me to marry the wrong man (LOL). Try telling someone over the phone that your email is marion at marion-black.com - "what's a hyphen?" "what's a dash?" "is that a line at the bottom?" I wish it could be all one word then I could say "all one word" - that would be so much easier. ~Marion
