What Can You Accomplish in 5 Days?
It's been 5 days since I started working on my website, and I think I've made a few pretty big accomplishments. My website may not be ranked #1 with Google yet, but the website:
- Has a layout and theme that I love
- Has 7 pages of content
- Has 3 blog posts
- Is indexed by Google
- Has one blog post and one page ranked within the top 20 pages in the Google SERPs for one of their targeted keywords
It might not seem like a lot, but I think in the world of affiliate marketing these are some HUGE accomplishments for five days worth of work -- especially the Google indexing and rankings. (See the image below for the exact rankings)
There's no way I could have accomplished this much without the courses provided in Wealthy Affiliate's Affiliate Bootcamp -- and I only just completed the Affiliate Bootcamp course that's available to those who have starter memberships. Also, I can't forget to thank the all of the community members who have helped me by commenting and providing feedback on my site. This community really is the best.
It just goes to show, if you follow the courses provided and work hard, you can be successful online!

5 days, impressive. The thing about your skill set, is the more advanced you get and the more experience you get, the more efficient you can become at this sort of thing.
Things that used to take me a month, I can now do in a day (or quicker). I remember when I started out, it took me over a month to build my first site...it was from scratch, but still. A site I can build in 30 seconds here is much better and more functional than my sites back then...yet I managed to survive and build a very successful business out of that site and subsequent sites. I got more efficient with every learning experience and failure.
I think that you can totally relate to this and it is more apparent by what you have accomplished in just 5 days Emily. Awesome post and thanks for sharing!
Oh totally. I remember the first blog I ever created. It was on Blogger. Back then, blogger did have template, but they were very generic and you couldn't add pages to your blog only posts. Every little thing I wanted to do, like alter the header image, add a page, change the background color, etc... had to be written in HTML code. You couldn't even click a button to add a hyperlink. You had to go through the coding to do it. It's so much easier now than it was back then.
I actually should have checked my rankings before I wrote this, because I went back and noticed that the site was ranking within the first 20 pages for four different pages/posts and keywords, including a post I wrote at about 2am last night. I can't believe that you can get a page indexed in less than 24 hours these days. It's amazing.
That said, I think we do need a disclaimer to newbies on this post...
People who are completely new to online business shouldn't be discouraged from my post. I'm 8+ years into my online business journeys. So, if you're new, definitely don't compare your journey to mine, but know what can be done if you take the time to learn and work hard.
I'm a newbie to Internet. I have written lots of essays on the computer but don't have face book or haven't done any internet marketing. Thanks for your encouragement.
