Hi Michell,
Great question! You’re on the right track with having an online sales platform. For the countdown feature you're looking for, there are several ways to go about this.
1. **Raffle Ticket Plugin**: There are some great plugins designed specifically for raffles and giveaways. One popular option is the **WP Raffle Plugin**, which allows you to create raffle events, set the number of tickets available, and display a countdown showing how many tickets are left. This could be perfect for your needs.
2. **WooCommerce and Custom Fields**: If you’re running the raffle through WooCommerce, you could use a **WooCommerce Product Countdown** plugin to display how many tickets are left. For example, **WooCommerce Product Add-Ons** allows you to set a stock limit for the tickets (600 in your case), and once a sale is made, the stock number decreases automatically.
3. **Custom Development**: If you need a more personalized solution, you might want to consider a developer who can create a custom counter that integrates with Payfast and updates in real-time. This could be done by adding a simple countdown code that connects to your product stock and decreases every time a ticket is sold.
4. **Integrating Payfast**: Since Payfast is your preferred payment gateway, make sure your solution integrates well with it. **WooCommerce Payfast Plugin** or **Easy Digital Downloads** (if you’re selling digital tickets) should be able to integrate Payfast easily.
It sounds like you’ve got the platform set up, so the key is finding a plugin that ties together the sales process and the real-time countdown. If you’re looking for something simple, I would suggest trying the WooCommerce solution first, as it’s easy to set up and integrates seamlessly with Payfast.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you need further guidance. Some of this was provided by ChatGPT, so please verify the accuracy, but I still hope it helps you move forward with your project.
Best,

Thank you very much Les
Yes I took a look at Raffle ticket plugin. I installed it and it works well. The only problem is the countdown part only comes with the paid version. But I am going to have a look at the WooCommerece custom field plugin. I have not thought of that yet. Thank you I will try it out.

My linux pc runs Thunderbird and suddenly the emails just stopped working. I have my own domain here with WA TracknTrain.co.za and none of the emails associated with my domain
Things you can do:
Check Your Domain’s Email Server Settings (MX records are correctly configured)
Try Alternative Ports (You have done this.)
Check Your Thunderbird Synchronization Settings
- Account Settings > Synchronization & Storage
- "Keep messages in all folders for this account on this computer" box is checked
Clear Outdated IMAP Cache (for IMAP users)
Test with Connection Doctor (Diagnostic Mode)
- Error console (found under the "Tools" menu)
Network Issues or Firewalls
Please let us know how you get on.
Abie
I tried all the suggestions Abie. Nothing is working. Now neither Thunderbird or Outlook is working.
Thunderbird doesn't receive or send and outlook is only receiving.
I haven't heard from site support either. It has been 3 days. I don't think the problem is at my end.
