The sefish among us

There are those of us here who are just takers. Somehow they never learned to give. We know what we want but never seem to think that if its good for us it is good for others too. You know who you are, you continually post in the chat rooms for comments on your sites but you never visit the sites of the commenter. Even those who post and say I will return the favour, are guilty of this. They do whatever and say whatever it takes to get visits but never reciprocate.

To maintain my score with activity I continually visit a minimum of 3 sites per day or more if I have the time and comment and have received 2 comments in the last week. If you check back those sites, there are new responses present confirming that there is activity there, they haven't been so busy as not to visit you. They are simply concerned with their sites alone and appearing as if to have good rap with their commenters.

This is distasteful and I will no more waste such time helping greedy people to accomplish their selfish agendas. You know who you are because you have my comments on your site

Well said. I also comment on at least 3 sites daily and I try and publish a new post every day and then share it in that thread. I don't really keep track of exactly how many comments I give and how many I receive but I am certain I give more than I get.
I mostly make use of the site comments feature for my website comments as this is a more sure way of getting comments for me.

Yea, someone pointed that out to me since then. I use the WA comments section using the credits

Great :) I use both really just because I like to still keep within the WA spirit even if others don't. I've also come to know quite clearly who the givers are and who the takers are. I ignore all requests from takers and give great comments to the givers. You will also find the people that work hard make use of the site comments feature so if you see them posting in the thread they will always give you comments back.

Oh ok that's kool and even useful. Some have the gall to say they will reciprocate just to encourage you lol.

If you give your comments through the site rubix link on the left hand side, then you get credits for each comment. Then you can use those credits and request comments on your site. This is a fairer system. You are not a bad person for using this system to place comments. We have only 24 hours in the day and we have to budget our time just like we budget money. If anybody requests comments, ask them to make their requests via the site rubix link on the left hand side. That way, they will have to give before getting. Good luck.

totally agree. I have abandoned the comments thread and go through the sitecomments section now.

OOOOOH I just looked and saw what you mean. I remembered that from early in my lessons here. Only thing I wasn't quite sure how to use it. Sounds like a great idea though, thank you

I am now trying that but this Avatar thingy is trying to give me stress

Go here and open an account with them. Once you have done this, you can use that same email address when giving comments and your pic will automatically come up. You will need to upload a pic.

Thanks Selvie, I got it worked out. The pic was the problem.

I've noticed a distinct change in this just recently. When I first joined in late April everyone was reciprocating comments. Now I find hardly anyone returns the favour. Like you said, even those who say they will. I'm not sure why things have changed.

I hear you, I have experienced the same thing... however, I must keep doing what I'm doing because of who I am, I can't let a few discourage me from doing what I know is right. There is a thing called karma, which gives back when you least expect it... this is true if you are a giver or a taker... karma does not discriminate.

Stay positive and do what you know in your heart to be the right thing to do... it doesn't matter what anyone else does or doesn't do.

thanks for being encouraging

you are welcome...
