The ranking system of WA

Today I felt like saying something about the ranking system of WA. I see there are different ways of looking upon it.

I think it is a fabulous invention. WHY ?

1. When I see my rank go down it makes me very happy and motivated to work even harder. I see it as a visible proof that I am improving and learning and that my progress is going in the right direction.

2. By working to get my rank down I have to do various things for learning and improving my business skills but also for interacting with the community.

It can be easy to forget the community thing and concentrate only on learning how to be successful in business. But both things are important.

When we all started here, we were welcomed by nice people and often offered help. That made us feel good, right ??

And isn't it exactly what we need in our businesses to succeed ; the will to help others ?? So, let''s start in here ! Let the new people who start after us feel the same way as we did. It doesn't take such a long time to welcome a newcomer , say "thank you" when you get followed or to comment on a blog post that gave you inspiration. Not only the newcomers need comments. People being here for some time who have spent so much time in writing amazing blog posts for helping us all, deserve feedback too.

After all helping each other is what makes our community so fantastic isn't it ? Let's all do our part to keep it that way. It is all about taking and giving. Finding the balance...

Have a nice weekend everybody :)

I totally agree. Wonderful reminder!

I think that you summarised your post by saying that we need to find that balance and that is the key. it is good to belong to this very helpful and supportive community, the training and learning here at WA can be on such a subtle level at times, it is good to read texts like this, a community does help

Thank you, Alexander :)

Thanks for such a great post. I agree wholeheartedly.

Thank you, Tanya :)

It can be a double-edged sword.

Unfortunately, some members get distracted by following, socialising, blogging and "competitive" ranking within WA to the detriment of their training and then end up complaining they're not getting anywhere business-wise.

I have lost count over the years of the number of high ranking members and even Ambassadors who after a year or two at WA start whining they are still not earning.

Just in the last few weeks I've seen two Ambassadors state they are struggling to afford their monthly membership to WA or can't afford $19 a month for Jaaxy.

It often only takes a quick glance at their profiles to realise they've ended up with hundreds - if not thousands! - of pieces of content here at WA, but hardly any by comparison on their own websites, where it would actually have done them some good and more than likely be earning them some income!!

Thank you very much for your reply Richard . I totally agree with you here, and it is very good to view things from both sides. What you are pointing at here is the other side of the case and that is not a balanced use of ones time, It is important to have focus and not let yourself get caught up in a competition about rankings. We are here to learn a business and we must put in that work ourselves in the first place .The rankings do not give us any money alone. Excellent reminder :)

And this is the truth too. I've seen one high ranking member quit. I was curious, checked out their website, and it was unreadable. Literally did not make sense. And I reminded that yes, socialising is great, but not if it affects the reason we are here in the fists place, which is to work on financial independence.

Great post Elin. Thank you!

Thank you, Janet :)

Nice philosophy

Thank you, Pablo :)

Thank you, Elin :)

The ranking system assists in the learning process!

Thank you Michael .That is exactly what I meant. I get motivated by seeing it go down, and it makes me want to work harder. But of course, what Richard says here is correct and a good reminder. We are here to learn a business and socialising , following and chatting all day long won.t give us any results. It is all about finding a balance. :) The work needs to be done. in the first place, but it doesn't have to take such a long time to say a "Thank You" or a "Welcome" now and then :)

This is an excellent post!! Somebody who understands how important it is to work on our business, but still take the time to communicate and help others!! Way to go with such a positive post!! :)

Thank you very much, Terry ! You understood me right !! The balance is important :)

Congratulations; You have discovered that improving your rank, her on WA does not immediately increase your income but it does help others and that motivates you to learn how to do what you do on your site even better!

Thank you Mickey ! It is exactly what I mean. The important thing is to find a balance there. Of course there will no business with only socialising and chatting all day long either :)

That is part of the biggest issue I do not care for about FaceBook!
