Beyond Expectations
No Way Can I Do It
Exhilaration is my word to describe the feeling of accomplishing something I never ever thought I could possibly do. So many excuses held me back. Me create a website? No I’m computer illiterate. Me actually write articles and post them on a website? No what would I write, I don’t have anything to say that anyone would want to hear. I can’t, I can’t.
Pie in the Sky
I retired from the legal field two years ago and realized I had to do something besides sit on the couch. I started looking on the internet to find something to motive me and keep me connected to other people on a daily basis. I saw so many advertisements on my emails, Facebook, and Utube from people selling ways to make easy money doing affiliate marketing. I thought why not? I saw $ signs thinking how fun it would be to take the grand kids on a fabulous vacation and spoil them with all kinds of goodies. Possibly, I could do it--no one knows me, I don’t have to face anyone face to face, so I started searching for something I felt comfortable with. Wow was I surprised at all the promises of overnight wealth just by signing up and following the plans. The fees to join were ridiculous and training very limited. I did actually sign up for a few but soon realized there was no in-depth step by step training. I totally didn’t know anything about affiliate marketing or creating web pages or much less Google+ or rankings. I needed something for a total “newbie.”
A Glimmer of Maybe
Then one day I opened an email from Wealthy Affiliates. Hum?? No Technical experience required, free starter trial, two free websites. My cup of tea! So with trepidation, I signed up. Surprise, I immediately received an email from Kyle, a co-owner, welcoming me to Wealthy Affiliates, and setting out the program and offering his help to guide me through the process. Wow, this hadn’t happened in the other programs.
I opened the first training and was immediately drawn in and actually believed I could create a website. The training was step-by-step, very easy to follow, and Kyle was very helpful and interesting in his videos. I admit I did have some tough times along the way and still hit that brick wall more often than not. I actually gave up and threw in the towel. Then I would read a WA blog about never quitting, just follow the training and saw that others felt just like me. So I would go back and do another lesson.
Although, it wasn’t required, I signed up for the Premium package, because I felt I wanted to take advantage of the whole program and see where it took me. The community response was also incredible. I had so many people responding and answering questions, I knew if I tried it would be really hard to fail.
Blue Skies Ahead - I Can Do It
Here I am several weeks later. Just completed Level 2 of training, and I have a website ranked on Google, have created posts, added images and learned things like keywords and low hanging fruit. My web page is ranked on Google (not very high yet but it’s there). I have signed up for Facebook, Twitter and I'm learning to post on my Google+ account. I have been accepted as an affiliate for Clickbank, Amazon, ShareASale, and Rakuten. I’m currently, working on several other affiliate programs. I need to add more posts and clean up my site, but it’s further than I ever thought possible. My hold up seems to be getting the traffic. Hopefully, that will come in time when I add more content to my website and figure out some relevant keywords for my posts.
So I can use my word “exhilaration” because I have truly done something I never thought possible! Thanks WA and the community for the encouragement to keep going.
Thanks all!
Jean
Not much on my website and Google+ but any comments would help. Would also appreciate if you would "follow".

Good stuff Jean! I also feel like I have accomplished more than I ever thought possible in the three short months I've been in WA. I'm not receiving any traffic yet either but I will finish the training and keep creating content for a year, or two if that's what it takes, every week until I start ranking well in Google.
I followed you here and on Google+!
You are demonstrating why WA is truly different than the Pie in the Sky programs you first tried. This platform is in a class by itself and it's the result of Kyle and Carson's commitment to be so.
Can you imagine where you will be in a year if you keep doing what you have been doing?
You are making a great progress Jean.
