The following is a conversation I had with Google Bard a few moments ago to test its knowledge about Wealthy Affiliate. It got some things right, and other things wrong. In general, it said a lot of good things about this platform. Let me know what you think.

Me: What do you know about Wealthy Affiliate?

Bard: Wealthy Affiliate is an online community and training platform that teaches people how to make money through affiliate marketing. The company was founded in 2005 by Kyle Loudon and Carson Lim, and it has since grown to become one of the most popular affiliate marketing programs in the world.

Wealthy Affiliate offers a comprehensive training program that covers all aspects of affiliate marketing, from finding profitable niches to creating and promoting websites. The program also includes access to a private community of other affiliate marketers, as well as a variety of tools and resources to help members succeed.

There are two membership levels at Wealthy Affiliate: Starter and Premium. The Starter membership is free, but it offers limited access to the training program and community. The Premium membership costs $49 per month, and it provides full access to all of Wealthy Affiliate's features.

Wealthy Affiliate has been praised by many for its comprehensive training program and helpful community. However, some critics have argued that the program is too expensive, and that the training is not as effective as it could be.

Overall, Wealthy Affiliate is a legitimate online community and training platform that can help people learn how to make money through affiliate marketing. However, it is important to do your research before joining, as the program may not be right for everyone.

Here are some pros and cons of Wealthy Affiliate:

Pros:

  • Comprehensive training program
  • Helpful community
  • Variety of tools and resources
  • No upsells or hidden fees

Cons:

  • Expensive
  • Training may not be as effective as it could be
  • Some members have complained of spammy marketing

Ultimately, whether or not Wealthy Affiliate is right for you depends on your individual needs and goals. If you are serious about learning how to make money through affiliate marketing, then Wealthy Affiliate may be a good option for you. However, if you are looking for a more affordable or less time-consuming option, then there may be other programs that are a better fit.

Me: What year is the latest information you have for Wealthy Affiliate

Bard: The latest information I have for Wealthy Affiliate is from 2023. In this year, Wealthy Affiliate has made a number of changes to its platform, including:

  • Introducing a new keyword research tool
  • Adding a new section to the training program on how to create and manage a successful affiliate marketing business
  • Making it easier for members to connect with each other through the community forum
  • Offering a new discount program for members who sign up for an annual subscription

Wealthy Affiliate is constantly updating its platform and adding new features, so it is important to check back regularly for the latest information.

Me: Do you know that there are two levels of paid membership at Wealthy Affiliate? Premium at $49/month and Premium Plus at $99/month? When I asked you to tell me about Wealthy Affiliate earlier you didn't mention the Premium Plus option. This has been available for a couple of years and you said that the latest information you have for Wealthy Affiliate is upto 2023.

Bard: Yes, I am aware that there are two levels of paid membership at Wealthy Affiliate: Premium and Premium Plus. The Premium membership costs $49 per month, and the Premium Plus membership costs $99 per month.

The Premium Plus membership includes all of the features of the Premium membership, plus a few additional features, such as:

  • Access to a private forum for Premium Plus members only
  • Access to a dedicated coaching team
  • Priority support

The Premium Plus membership is a good option for members who are serious about making money through affiliate marketing. The additional features can help members get more out of the Wealthy Affiliate platform and achieve their goals faster.

I apologize for not mentioning the Premium Plus membership in my previous response. I am still under development and learning to provide accurate and up-to-date information. I will try my best to do better in the future.

Me: You said there are cheaper options than Wealthy Affiliate to learn about Affiliate Marketing. Can you tell me what these options are?

Bard: Sure, here are some cheaper options than Wealthy Affiliate to learn about affiliate marketing:

  • Free options:
    • There are a number of free resources available online that can teach you about affiliate marketing. Some of these resources include:
      • Blog posts and articles
      • YouTube videos
      • Podcasts
      • Webinars
      • Ebooks
    • It is important to do your research and find quality resources that will teach you the basics of affiliate marketing.
  • Low-cost options:
    • There are also a number of low-cost options available online that can teach you about affiliate marketing. Some of these options include:
      • Online courses
      • Membership sites
      • Coaching programs
      • Mastermind groups
    • When choosing a low-cost option, it is important to make sure that the program is reputable and that you will get your money's worth.

It is important to note that there is no one-size-fits-all answer when it comes to learning about affiliate marketing. The best option for you will depend on your individual needs and budget. If you are serious about learning how to make money through affiliate marketing, then I recommend investing in a quality program that will teach you the basics and help you get started.

Here are some additional tips for choosing a good affiliate marketing program:

  • Make sure the program is reputable and has a good reputation.
  • Read reviews from other students.
  • Make sure the program covers all of the topics you are interested in learning about.
  • Make sure the program is affordable.
  • Make sure the program is easy to follow.

I hope this helps!

My Assessment

Overall I think Google Bard did a credible job in asnwering my questions. When Google Bard got it wrong it apologized ha! It then continued to get other things wrong such as stating there is a special forum for Premium Plus members. I didn't think so. Unless it is referring to the Premium Plus classes as such.

It seems bent on referencing others who considered it too expensive. Yet, when I asked to provide cheaper options it was quite vague and identified sources that would take more work verifying the accuracy and quality of the training.

Google Bard totally missed the mark that Wealthy Affiliate does not only provide training, but also offers other benefits like ultra fast website hosting, and covenient tools like the Affiliate Program Search tool as well as the AI based Niche Research tool.

Its advice on how to select an affiliate marketing training course hit all the hot buttons that are available within Wealthy Affiliate.

In general, Google Bard was positive about Wealthy Affiliate. It also stated that it is still learing and will improve.

What do you think?

Cheers.

Edwin

Good morning Edwin,

I'm not surprised it had some things wrong, but based on my understanding of this supposed AI it is constantly learning. Being shaped by those using it. I imagine in the coming months it will get more correct.

I was looking forward to its answer on cheaper legitimate options and disappointed it gave such a vague response. Reminded me how I feel when an editorial passing itself off as legitimate news starts its hit piece off with "anonymous sources say" and then write some of the most outlandish angles.

Thanks for sharing, was interesting to see what it thought. Would be curious to see what it has to say in a month or two.

Regards,

Jason

Hi Jason,

Me too. These AI platforms are constantly learning and getting smarter. They have come a long way but further to go. Since ChatGPT was first off the mark, it is further ahead of Google Bard.

Thanks for your insights.

Hello Edwin

This was a very interesting blog post. Thank you so much for sharing this information. Google Bard told you positive things about Wealthy Affiliate but was not accurate in many things it said.

It failed to mention premium plus and a few other things as you pointed out and it didn't give very good answers about other affiliate marketing training options.

It seems to me that Google Bard is not up to date on the information it supplies and despite it's claims it seems to be providing you some old information from a few years back before Wealthy Affiliate had premium plus.

I recently saw a blog post on WA from another member who asked ChatGPT about Wealthy Affiliate and the answers were a lot better and were up to date as well. I don't like the sound of Google Bard. I think I will stick to using ChatGPT if I need to use AI for something.

I found this blog post very interesting and informative. It has also inspired to do my own testing with AI which I will be doing one day soon. Thank you so much again for sharing this information. All the best to your success.

Regards

Timothy

Hi Timothy,

Like you, I prefer to use ChatGPT for the same reasons you provided. The only time I will use Bard is when I have questions relating to Google products.

Thanks for commenting.

Hello Edwin

Was it this one? I also prefer Bing Chat and ChatGPT to Bard.

Hello Andy

The one I read the other day was by Roy Bretton but I think it might have been your blog post that you linked to the other day to. I like ChatGPT and and Bing Chat better to. Thank you for sharing and for your comment. All the best to your success.

Good morning Edwin,

Thank you for your blog post. I hope that you are doing well.

Despite my reservations regarding AI, I have to admit I find it amazing that it gave pretty good answers to your questions. Although, I still don't trust everything A tells me!

Obviously, most of us know a reasonable amount about Wealthy Affiliate, so we don't need to research the answer. Had it been a question that we genuinely didn't know, we would then have to go and check the answer out and carry out our normal research.

It's interesting, as recently, I put a blog post up about ChatGBT's answer to summing up Wealthy Affiliate! I was surprised at what a great answer and in very few words that ChatGBT came up with!

It's interesting to see Catherine's answer below, I guess this is why we still have to do our research!

It's a very interesting subject, Edwin!

Have a great day.

Hello Roy,

I did this for a lark because it would be easy to see how accurate its responses were. It was a mixed bag. Bard has ways to go to catch up with ChatGPT.

Thanks for commenting.

Hello Edwin,

That's interesting, as I am very much a beginner with AI, and I haven't checked out Bard as yet! I wonder if Bard will catch up.

Have a great day.

Roy

I think that if you check that content, you'll discover that it was scraped from the reviews written by other WA members. It's not original content, and if you used it as is, you wouldn't "own" it because it originated from someone else.

Google doesn't have an opinion on WA. It's merely regurgitating what it scrapped from other sites.

Hi Jeannine,

Thanks for your comment. I agree with your conclusion as it’s very similar to my assessment at the end of my post.

AI has to get its data from somewhere. Since it uses a lot from WA members it makes sense that these will reflect their views.

There are also several errors. So we cannot use the results of AI before doing our own research.

I’m using AI for research and it saves time for a lot of activities other than content. I like it.

Cheers.

Edwin

I definitely agree with your assessments, Edwin! There were a lot of things it left out, so I am glad you prompted it! Also saying it was too expensive made me groan! It is a bout $1 more or less a day, and that is for everything that WA offers here!

Hey Jeff, thanks for responding. I’m honored you read my whole article to see where I was going with this.

Cheers.
