I Got My Money Back - It's The Method That's Worth Sharing!

A few weeks ago I saw an online advertised offer for a free sample of CBD Cream and CBD Tincture and all I had to do was pay the shipping and handling to get them.

The product was endorsed by a celebrity who I respected. And it was shown to be very powerful stuff that would help arthritic pain. What was there to loose? I filled out the form and entered my credit card info.

A few days later I got my free samples. I had no intention of ordering more unless I found that this worked for me. The company didn't publicize what the actual costs would be if I decided to purchase monthly. I didn't worry about that as I knew I would find out when and if I ordered it again.

In about 15 days I noticed that the shipping and handling charges for $9,90 appeared on my statement.

The Other Shoe Dropped

A few days later I went to check my account and got a shock. There were two new charges for about $100 each from the same CBD company.

I called them to find out what happened. I hadn't authorized any more shipments. How come the charges were so high? They then told me to click the Terms and Conditions link where I would find out the details of the deal.

The $200 charges were not for future shipments but for the products I had already received. They were only free for the first 14 days AFTER the shipment date. I had to call to cancel within that time in order for the samples to be free.

I Faced A Stark Reality

Of course I complained that I didn't read anything about that arrangement That is why I didn't call. They informed me it was all there on that website. All I had to do was to click the Terms and Conditions link to see exactly what he told me as part of the lengthy Terms and Conditions.

I checked and it was all there. In small print and in legalese language.

They would be very happy to cancel future shipments so that I would not incur more charges. The bottom line - they were not going to send me any refund because I was at fault. Not them. I had failed to read and understand the terms and conditions and they were not responsible for that.

Have any of you had a similar experience?

LegalShield To The Rescue!

I am a member of an MLM company called LegalShield. My subscription plan gives me unlimited access to legal advice. As well as covered services such as writing legal letters to get your money back in situations like this.

The specialist attorney they assigned, agreed to send out a letter asking for a refund, even though legally the CBD company were in the clear. We both agreed that this so called free offer was predatory in nature and worth sending out a letter requesting a refund.

I got a phone call today from their customers service department 4 days after the phone call with the attorney. A soft-spoken lady told me they had received the letter and decided to refund me everything. Including the original charges for postage and handling. I thanked her very much and she wished me well.

How cool was that?

Having an attorney on your side can make a world of difference.

Although LegalShield is an MLM company, I remain a member just for the legal services. I cannot afford to pay an attorney $250 and more per hour so this is a cost effective alternative. I call them whenever I need legal advice, or to get me out of a situation using intervention.

Since this my membership benefit I call a lot. Especially when I need legal documents reviewed.

Having access to legal services every day and 24/7 in case of emergencies is something that benefits me immensely. It provides peace of mind.

How much do their legal services cost me? $29 a month! Over the years I have used this company to save me hundreds of thousands of dollars.

I Need Some Advice

When I joined WA my primary goal was to market the services of LegalShield to others who can benefit from these services just like I have. But using the affiliate marketing mode instead of the unappealing MLM one.

Three months into my Wealthy Affiliate membership I got an invitation from Kyle to join the Super Affiliate Challenge. This would mean changing focus from my legal services business to promoting Wealthy Affiliate and other MMO programs. I created a new website devoted to Affiliate Marketing and MMO.

My original LegalShield site has remained stagnant with only 23 articles on it. My MMO site has almost 100.

Should I promote the LegalShield benefits using my LegalShield website?

Or should I promote LegalShield on my MMO site and leave the other one alone?

Or should I do both?

Please provide me with your recommendations and the reason why. I will write a follow up blog here based on the results if I receive sufficient responses.

Thank you sincerely for any advice you can give me. If you wish please ask me any questions too, in the discussion area below.

Cheers.

Edwin

I hate scammers. You might want to consider reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General of your state as well. You could pretty much just copy and paste what you have here and send them to the links and they'll handle it.

As for the other question, why are you limited to promoting them on one site? As long as the content is different and targeted to the particular site, I say promote LegalShield on both sites.

Sean

Hi Sean, thanks commenting and for the tips. Makes sense, both of them.

Cheers.

Such incident is ruining the image of the online purchasing, consumers are losing their trust of using their card for online payments, i hope situations like that can be solved, and if terms and condition has to be read carefully or else some additional payment have to be done. You're experience was great example for us to be careful with online transactions but the problem is if you maybe have lost a little bit your trust how much more our customers. So we must make sure that this will not happen to the customers of our site online.

Thanks for your comments Francisco.

Edwin,

As a former member of PPL before they changed the name. I was planning on being a life long member. However, due to many unforeseen circumstances in my past, I couldn't continue the monthly services nor be an associate at the time,

I want to inform you that all network marketing companies do require you to use your replicated website and you can’t blog or talk about them unless you get them approved by the marketing dept. Because it is an legal insurance, it’s marketed in some states which requires an insurance license and some states no license required. I lost a lot of sales had to be given away to the associate licensed in that state. I was under the famous marketer Brian Carruthers out in Maryland. I was under his team. Legal Shield has a marketing and ad approval department that you need to call to ask if you can blog articles about legal shield products,. They require you to use their marketing products and that can’t be copied.

I have no need to use the services nor be an associate now. I loved the services. They did save me a few times with letters written on my behalf but those letters were only limited to ten letters per year after that still have to pay additional letters. It was worth it at the time.

I wouldn’t proceed with blogging about it unless you’re approved and I was always denied placing my own ads and etc had to buy and follow their own marketing materials. They were costly. The license was costly, it was just too much of an hassle.

You might be able to just share your story then link it to your replicated website. But seek marketing dept approval first. That company is pretty strict about those how you market your associate business.

Best wishes to you.

Hi Brenda,

Thanks for your thoughtful advice regarding LegalShield. Your points are well taken.

You were in a top notch team under Brian Carruthers. Sorry you had those issues. In California we do not need a license like in some other states. I am not planning in recruiting and only marketing the services.

The approach you suggested about telling personal stories and providing links back to my LegalShield dashboard using creatives provided by them is what I have done and plan to continue doing. I don't plan on making up my own ads. They have a fantastic array of marketing materials that I can copy and paste into my websites.

Based on what you said I feel good about not going full steam ahead when I started.

I will look closely into their terms and conditions before I go deep into marketing mode.

All the best to you.

I just got cheated by a local contactor and wished that I had legal shield. During my time when I bought legal shield, I did not have to use it. The same goes with identity fraud protection. Both are good because the minimizing the risk. Thank you for sharing this story

Hi Denis,

We also had a contractor who tried to cheat us several years ago. When we wouldn't pay thay placed a mechanics lien on the hime. And started threatening us with a lawsuit. The attorney from LegalShield wrote them a letter. This contractor was forced to remove the mechanics lien and rescind any claims they had about us owing them money.

When they realized we had a lawyer on our side, they changed their stance 180 degrees.

Pity you weren't still a LeegalShield member when you had your contractors problem.

All the best to you.

Edwin

I find that it is better to focus on one rather than both, but it is not impossible. I have two websites, but my interest in my first website went completely downhill and I haven't added a new article to it in well over a year now. It has 258 articles and is generating a healthy amount of traffic and earns me a little bit of Adsense revenue.

I've instead devoted my time to my own MMO website and I'm now nearly at 100 articles on it too. I feel like I could help people the most with that site and I'm eager to keep adding more posts to it.

Thank you so much for sharing this with us and you've gotten my interest with LegalShield.

Hi Brian,

Glad to hear from you. Thanks! You are speaking from experience and I appreciate your advice. I've got a ;lot to think about. My goal was to start to earn a decent income from my second MMO Site before spending more time on my legal site.

However, LegalShield has an amazing autoresponder system in their Associate dashboard. I may try to build a list there to use that.

If you need more information on LegalShield just ask. All the best to you.

Edwin
