Content Creation Flow Chart

When you are ready to write a new blog post and sit in front of your computer, does your mind get stuck about what to write? I also have that problem. After reading many articles here about writing articles, I decided to create a flow chart shown below that provided me with structure in my approach.

I'd like to share this with you and get your comments if it makes sense and helps.

We begin with our website and continue to write a blog post. Here are the objectives we would like to meet:

1. Attract the attention of visitors who happen to arrive as traffic
2. Hold the attention of real people who comprise this traffic
3. Then we need to uncover a need
4. Finally we must satisfy that need
5. This most likely will result in a sale through our affiliate company

Attract Attention

It is Keywords that attract attention. We need to use the training here at Wealthy Affiliate, especially that given by Jay Neill in his Friday webinars to learn how to choose the best Keywords that will catch the attention of realm people in our target market.

Hold Attention

There are several ways to do this. The most common is to use some teaser phrases in the first couple of sentences to make the visitor want to read more. It is imperative that they are made to feel your article is worth reading.

Why don't you use your own experience to figure this out? What kind of sentences in an article would hold your attention? This is why it is so important to know the needs, wants and desires of your target market very clearly. If it happens to involve products you are passionate about, you should know what phrases would hold your attention.

Often the use of a picture or graphic that is relevant will help. I hope the graphic I used at the top fulfilled that role. You metaphorically hold the hand of your reader and take them on an exciting journey that they instinctively know will be beneficial to them.

It is the words, phrases, pictures and diagrams you use that created this bong with your customer.

Uncover A Need

When you chose a product or products that you wanted to include in as your Affiliate Marketing niche I hope you thought long and hard about what problem would that solve for your reader. Or it could be a shiny object that people in your target market would highly desire to own as it made them feel good.

We as humans are conditioned to endure a lot of disappointments in our lives because we cannot attain the things we need for various reasons. Therefore, we tend to put those needs in the back of our minds and forget about them.

Haven't you met a sales person who has helped you to unearth a need and sell you a product that satisfied that need?

Notice how feelings play a big role in uncovering a need or desire to own that product? There are articles written in Wealthy Affiliate by others that teach how to use emotion in one's writing. Use the query box at the top to find these.

Satisfy That Need

Once you have helped your reader to unearth that need you are almost there. Do not delay in providing your reader with a solution. That will be your product off course. Or one of them if you have several within your niche.

Show them how this item will help solve their problem. Or satisfy their desire. Use the features and benefits to hit their hot buttons. The use of pictures here is very powerful.

Make them feel as if they already own the product. They don't, which makes them emotionally want it NOW.

Here is where you dangle your banner of phrase that are linked to your affiliate company's online store. Once your potential customer clicks on that affiliate link you are out of the picture and they now make their purchase directly from the company that will ship it to them.

This is Affiliate Marketing basic stuff. It doesn't hurt to mention the obvious. Because this is what results in making a sale and you earn a commission.

There are many details in writing effective articles such as physical structure, headlines, paragraph lengths etc. However, they all should fit into the framework of the flow chart I introduced at the beginning.
