I have been evaluating my activities within Wealthy Affiliate and decided I must make some much-needed changes. BenjisDad published a Blog yesterday about already qualifying for the WA Las Vegas 2020 trip. Chris, his actual name, addressed those of us who are in the Super Affiiate Challenge. He mentioned something relating to meeting our SAC goals that hit me like a ton of bricks. And I quote:

"Remember, everyone has their "own" way of making money. A lot of different ways work. But just choose one you know works and stick to it until you succeed."

Chris implied that the Wealthy Affiiate Program has proven to work. Since we accepted this challenge we need to focus on that. There is something else he said that points out pitfalls:

"The only thing I can suggest that you do if you want to accomplish the Super Affiliate Challenge (SAC), is to follow the instructions, follow the training, and do not get distracted with extra training here and there. As you may know at this point, it is STUPID EASY to get off track."

I know that by personal experience!

Summary of SAC Month 1

14 of the tasks are related to creating our website, building our brand and writing content. Only 4 tasks are related to activities on Wealthy Affiliate. Let me list them here:

  1. Create at least one blog a week at WA
  2. Share one blog post link from WA on Social Media
  3. Be active in Chat 15 minutes a day minimum
  4. Aim to help at least 5 people per day at WA

I've been doing pretty good at 1, 2 and 4. But very sporadic on 3. I have fallen behind on many of the 14 tasks related to my website. I feel it is because my priorities on WA have been focused on writing too many blogs, and responding to the many great comments I have been receiving. That is all good. But I need to slow that pace down so that I can spend more time on the SAC tasks.

The deadline for the first 45 days activities in the SAC, May 20th is looming closer. I need to make some changes to balance what I do.

Modification of Activities

I shall be devoting more time towards the SAC tasks. To free up time to do that I am going to make the following changes:

  • Write fewer Blogs at WA perhaps two per week, instead of almost daily
  • Write fewer comments in Site Comments
  • Welcome fewer new members per day

All the above activities helped my WA rank and got me closer to achieving Ambassador Status. Since I am working on the SAC, acjieving Ambassador can wait.

I will also be devoting less time to my niche website I developed from the OEC Program. I am not going to put it aside totally. I will just be writing fewer Blogs there since more time will be devoted to writing blogs for my WA Bootcamp related website.

Another downside in doing too much of the above activities was it generated a high amount of internal communication, with new members as well as existing members. I enjoy these interactions so much that I lost track how that was negatively impacting my SAC goals.

All I need is to have a proper balance in my WA activities. I can still do all the above, but less frequently so that I can free up time for the SAC

Understanding

I will not be as active as before on WA. Please understand this is not out of being thoughtless. Your understanding will be much appreciated. I know my rank will drop. That can always be boosted later. After I get at least 300 new member sign ups and earn a trip to Las Vegas in 2020!

Now that is something worth working towards.
