I don't agree with some WA thoughts

Hey everyone,
I want to thank everyone for supporting me on everything but I'm afraid I do have some concerns. I either do not understand or disagree with some WA thoughts. I've already posted 36 blog posts and shared them on twitter, facebook, pinterest, and google +. I've made $0. There is a chance that my focus is not going to be affiliate marketing.
I am getting the impression that quantity is all that matters as I remember talking with people claiming that:

"It takes time for your blog to grow"
"You need to post about 5 times a day"
"There is no such thing as wrong niche and you don't need to be an expert in your niche"
I do not see why that should matter due to several reasons.
- Where is the evidence to that? My blog has been online since december 2013. I could still be blogging for 2 years and not make money. It would feel to me as just a way to keep me spending money on WA training or worse just wasting my time. I came for passive income streams not active zero income streams.
- We are told to create quality content not quantity content. Why is Google not seeing that? I am feeling that there are technical SEO issues that need to be solved or need to promote the posts
- I find that still hard to believe.
