Things are a bit rough in Florida
That's a bit of an understatement I know. π
As a weather watcher i've been keeping an eye on the progress of Hurricane Milton over the last couple of days.
What a Monster! I hope everyone is safe. I would imagine there'll be quite a few WA members down there, please let us know you are ok.
You might not have power at the moment, so we'll have to wait for your updates.
Not to be outdone, here in the UK the BBC Weather App flipped it's lid in sympathy with Floridians.
I suspect that Hurricane force North Easterly winds blowing at 15,661 mph is not quite right. π
Stay safe. We're thinking of you. π«£
Let us know of your experiences.

My daughter lives in Florida, but she said they only got some rain. I was quite worried about her and tried to get her to come on home.
Glad she's ok. Damage and flooding seems to be sporadic. The tornadoes are what reportedly killed people.

Hi Dave
My thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by Milton. π
Three dead and 3.4 million without power at this time!

I feel as though I shouldn't really be 'Liking' your comment, but I think we're all hoping everyone is ok and haven't suffered too much.

Hi Dave!
We made it through in pretty good shape. Milton went further south, so we missed most of the rain and winds here in Keystone.
Did not lose power - yea! Still under tropical storm warnings from Milton's exit across the state.
We were prepared early in the day for it. I haven't walked around here yet. I'm just looking out the window and eating my late breakfast of an Aussie Bite, lol.
I'll post about it later.

Glad to hear things are ok. The US take things like this far more seriously than in the UK, where people just dis weather forecasters and think they know better. It's pathetic. π‘

My girlfriend is now in Fla a bit earlier than originally planned. Fortunately she arrived a couple of days before the hurricane hit.
She is in a pocket area that was missed by the 'cane, they did not lose power, but did get some wind and rain.
She is in a very rural area west of Gainesville in Dixie county.
I get updates from her and know she is safe.
