Passion Problem

Do you find yourself constantly changing your mind about your niche?

Do you procrastinate a lot?

Do you wonder what the heck your problem is?

Then you are not alone, because here I am. (I do hope I am alone, for your sake!)

It is an obvious and easy idea: you must have passion for your niche. It's quite another idea to figure out or admit what your passion is.

My problem is trying to fit a passion into the box I've decided my life is. There are boundaries to this box, certain things don't fit inside this box. I think I can't travel the world like a nomad with four children in tow. See? It just doesn't fit inside this box of life that I've constructed for many years.

Life Box

It may be all of the crisis I have been dealing with lately, but I'm becoming worried that I'm not getting excited about things the way I did when I was younger. (Although I appreciate contentedness and calmness so much more these days, but that's a different story...)

I feel that I have a lot of responsibilities at this time in life. I'm sure that you do to. You may have even more responsibilities than I do.

I often put things in my "life box" that I probably shouldn't. These things look the tiniest bit related to my passions and they fit, so I think hey what the heck I'll stick it in there. But often I'm not able to sustain my excitement for these things. I go on ignoring that fact because of the time, thought and money I've already put into them.

Today I came across a travel blog which asked (and I've heard it before-but I must be analyzing more than usual, YIKES!) "What is it that you would do if money was not an issue?"

So I thought about this and I envisioned myself with enough money to do what I wanted. I thought of my personality and my current habits, and I realized those factors wouldn't go away overnight even if I suddenly won the lottery.

Here are my results:

I would still be seeking out information on the internet, but it would mostly be related to travel, tours, routes, and advice. I would also seek advice from people on the internet because not everything is found on the beaten paths or found on travel agency websites.

I would travel, and immerse myself in the local history, art, and culture. I would get to know the people, preferably over a meal with a nice glass of red wine.

I would still seek out great story from books, movies, t.v. shows, articles. I might even pick up a play or ballet every so often.

I'd go to amusement parks and places like Medieval Times, festivals and once in a while a concert. I would definitely go to lots of Cirque Du Soleil shows.

Most of all I would seek out spectacular gardens, nature, and watch birds, which are some things I already do. (However, if I had tons of money I would definitely go to Australia where the exotic birds will just sit on your head.)

I would take lots of pictures and maybe once in a great while I would share my experiences, write a little and share my photos.

I would take my time doing and thinking about these experiences, but keep a bucket list hung somewhere to remind me that I don't have all the time in the world to do all I want to do.

I now realize that I can do much of this already. I may not be able to travel far and wide, but I'm not shut out from most of the things I've listed above. Although the experiences would be closer to home and on a smaller scale, I realize that this is where I have to start. Or I won't make it.

Instead of wasting time thinking I should be doing something else, these are the experiences I should be having. I need to stop stressing myself over things I don't want to do.

when I start to lose my passion I just remember what I am doing this for and I get the energy and the passion to continue and see this thru all the best

Good blog. I've been non passionate about things myself. But all my life. I think I've done so many things that have absolutely excited the b-jesus out of me that most ordinary things now, bore me to death after a week or two.
I used to be good at running from the law. But it was a job, not a passion!
I used to be mean cruel and crazy. Not really something to write about.
I used to think my passion was fast cars, wild woman and wads of cash in my pocket making my member appear huge! Again, not something to outline a business around.
Now I'm down to flashlights and promoting WA. The promoting WA hasn't panned out, but I still have six more months in which to try. Then on to flashlights.
If I fail their also...I will quit internet marketing and be a handy man around my neighbor hood. I've always been handy with my hands.
Need a massage? :)

lets see.... Passion problem is the title and it is written by the name Good girl........ Now that right there is a winner :)

Nice post by the way. :)

hehe, I didn't plan it.....really:)

The point I shall make is, I never concentrate on my problems, I only concentrate on there solutions

Where focus goes energy flows - focus on the problem problem gets bigger - focus on the solution solution appears

Barry

truly perfect thought, thanks
