Update and Looking for Advice

Hey everyone! I'm 8 days into my WA journey and it's been so crazy (and fascinating so far). As someone who loves to learn, it's been great getting the chance to learn about something I know virtually nothing about and I really appreciate the WA trainings so far.

While I'm working to "beef up" my website with more posts, I wanted to check with those of you who've been doing this awhile to get your advice on the following questions.

1. How many posts/pages did you have on your site when you finally started seeing traffic?

2. What tips/tricks do you have for someone like me who has a site set up and is working to build it out?

I love all of the support I've received so far and thank all of you for that!!

Cheers,

Samantha

H,i Samantha

Your traffic will really depend on your niche (how competitive and/or popular it is) and the number, but more importantly, the quality of your posts.

You’ve probably heard “content is king” about a zillion times by now, but it is.

I have a guitar site. I’m just starting to see some decent (still not very much) traffic. I have about 130 posts and about 17,000 page views in 28 days. It goes up a little each day.

So I’m guessing (and hoping) that within a year I’ll have pretty good traffic and can begin making some real money.

Thanks @FrankB-1, this is very helpful. I had a feeling it would take awhile and this helps me plan for a "marathon" mentality!

You're Welcome, Samantha!

The training is simple and effective. All it requires is effort and consistency.

BTW: I have a Bachelor's degree in chemistry, so we have something in common. 😊

You're really doing very well, Samantha! Since I originally did not join for anything else except the excellent Site Support and hosting, here goes:

I have a few dormant sites after exploring affiliate marketing, and I might get back to those at some point.

I currently have 86 posts on my book promotion website (these are books that I write--which was the other reason that I came here initally too!)

I have never regretted being here for a minute! Best success to you in your endeavors here, my friend!

Jeff

Hi Samantha,

To answer your question;

1. The number of posts doesn't matter. Traffic does take time. It all depends on many factors. Your expertise in your niche, SEO-optimized keywords, articles (human writing), and your external, internal, and high-quality (not spammy) links. Some sites take a year to see traffic, and some within a few months. There is no honest concrete answer other than to build high-quality content that meets Google's E.A.T. Any time there are Google updates for content, some sites lose out on their ranking, and later traffic builds up. I had mine up then it took me about six months to see some traffic, but that was four years ago. I abandoned that site due to my health. It never revived, so I deleted the site and decided that the niche was not right for me. I have just started a new site and am working on getting it SEO-optimized now that my health is improving.

2. The tips and tricks are all in the OEC and Affiliate Bootcamp lessons and from watching the expert videos and expert trainers on this platform who teach training lessons. You have more access than me as a premium plus member. You can subscribe to SEO online journals and learn from different sites.

The best way is to keep writing high-quality SEO-optimized content. I am excited for you and look forward to seeing you share your successes with us.

Thanks, @BrendaMZ...this is really helpful to know! I thought it would take time and this knowledge helps me for long-term planning.

Hello Samantha,

There are definitely no tips or tricks. Just keep creating content so Google will know that you are present.

Cheers,

Myra
