I just came across this video(Before You Share Photos Online) and thought that everyone might want to watch it before they use their cell phones for personal pics and images. I’ve seen tidbits on this before but never really considered too much about it!

Yikes!! Thanks for this great information. I'll be forwarding this video to everyone I know, for sure.

Holy crap! Thanks for sharing DoubleTap! I just checked my phone and luckily the setting was switched to off!

You bet... yah, I got lucky too! Still kinda freaks me out a bit!

Good to know, thanks for sharing.

Cheers Randy, we are a pretty easy to track lot these days. Handy to be kept up to date as much as is possible, thanks.
With the NSA in your country, I'm guessing they go a little deeper than free google apps... Getting off the grid is a challenge - keep on camping friend, though maybe leave the devices at home :)

Hey there Damian, sometimes we make it simple for them and sometimes we're just flat out deceived. I've thought about getting out of Kalifornistan and getting off the grid too. But, too many roots in too firm a ground.

You're right my friend... think I will start leaving the electronics at home and just buy me another good trout pole!

Thanks for stopping by D-man!

This is great to know! Wow, no such thing as privacy anymore. I've noticed a little bit of this when on facebook and friends share a photo, it often says what town they're in, but I didn't realize people can find the exact location right down to the same parking spot like you showed. That's downright scary.
Anyways, I'm thinking I already turned mine off, but I'm going to double check it. Thanks for sharing! -Sherry

You bet Sherry, really good hearin' from ya'!

Thank you for this important share!
This GPS/photo option is darn right creepy and could possibly be dangerous. I am wondering why such an option exists in the first place, who benefits from this information?
What bothers me is that most, if not all of us don't know about this, especially people at risk. Your teenager who takes a bunch of selfies, your elder sharing pictures of their cat that might show valuable home items, ect...
I have checked my camera settings, it was automatically off. I did not know about it however even if I had disabled the GPS for any activity on my phone. I don't think "privacy" and "protection" should be in the 2015 dictionary. There really is no such thing anymore.

You are so right Genevieve... no such thing as privacy anymore. No more pics from my cell phone for a while until I'm totally sure that everything is disabled on mine! This stuff really is creepy. I love technology, but this is a bit over the top! Thank ya', kiddo.

But you can strip out that data easily.

Thank ya' Wayne... just checked mine and the tag was already turned off but I'm going to take a little time tomorrow to just double check all of my pics to make sure that they are all stripped. Sure do appreciate your help on this!

Sure no problem glad to help

Oh my, what an incredible, informational, short video.

Thank ya' Terea... hoping this finds all well back there. Haven't talked to ya' for a while, but have been keeping up on a lot of your contributions. Hope your new week is great!

Best wishes for ya'll too. Thanks for keepen up with me. I enjoy the company of so many incredible WA members.

hey Randy, thank you so much for this info but thank god I follow my instinct to turn off that GPS tagging from the first place. I never said yes to the offer. Great to hear this from you.. :-))

Hiya Gusti... I wish I would have given this a little more thought like you did. Not to late for me though, I haven't revealed too much about my personal life except that I love camping, love fishing and love the heck out of that big 'ol black dog! LOL!!! Always appreciate hearing from you!

Yeah, you too Randy.. ;-D
