The art of writing/blogging
Writers block
Pretty common and nothing to be alarmed about. The big question? What do I write/blog about? Answer: anything you want. Especially here in this WA blog. It was created to allow individuals a way to express themselves, to start a discussion, to ask a question, to describe what they are feeling, to say what's on your mind, for some, it is a digital diary of daily activities and progress here within WA or a record of daily life. It can be what ever you want it to be.
For the more advanced here in WA, blog's that try to answer questions for newbies are greatly appreciated and needed. Sometimes it's to give inspiration and reassurance to those having writers block about how to come up with ideas for content using a keyword tool. Today, as it has been for a few weeks for me, it's a self motivation and concentration issue.
I put an acorn squash on the table and started writing about it. It's color, shape, the feel of the outside of it, the smell, what it reminded me of. My conclusion, after 800 words was, it reminded me of an old man's wrinkled face with leathery skin and age spots with a curious yellow/brownish color to it. Not unlike what I see as my reflection every morning. Scary, huh?
Catmando is sitting here looking at me. Wish he could talk. Maybe he's the smart one around here. Motivate me cat. Bark like a dog, get up on your hind legs and spin in a circle. Instead he turns away and does the pussycat two step right out the door. Some friend. It's my birthday today, I'm going back to bed.

Thanks for this blog Don. I have yet to write a blog because of the reasons you mention. I will write one very soon about whatever comes to mind,
Sometimes it isn't about what to write, for me. It's getting motivated to do it. I can come up with a thousand and one ideas, just finding the ambition to write about it....eludes me.
Happy Birthday and if this post is an example of your writers block then I need to go back to bed!! Writing about the squash reminds me of what we used to do in college. A 1000 word paper on an inanimate object, it could be anything but you had to create a story about it. Most of the time they were silly and whimsical but they were always fun and kept the creative juices flowing. Best of luck and maybe think about getting a dog LOL!! (Just kidding)
I took this idea from my college day's. I can still remember a 1000 word essay on that damn plum! Also, I've had dog's and a kennel. I'd be wasting more time with a dog. At least my cat-Catmando- let's me know when he's had enough, he just walks away, I swear his tail points back at me when he does that. One kool cat! Thanks
Great post and I like the idea of using an object to write about! Happy birthday, hope you had a nice nap. Cheers, Kristina
I like this idea about how to use the idea of a Acorn Squash
to start your creative writing abilities moving.
I will try this using a different object. Thanks for the post as
all of us have strenghts and weaknesses. to build on.
