Don, I see you are making some good progress through the Affiliate Bootcamp. Just wanted to pop by and see if you need a hand with anything?

I also wanted to mention the success rates of Bootcamp. Absolutely everyone that has taken action on all of the phases of Bootcamp has a business that is generating consistent income online. MANY of these folks are going to be at our super affiliate conference next year.

I want this to be you and I want you to succeed with your promotions. So, please promise me that if you ever need a hand or feel stuck as you move forward, that you will get in touch with me!

Trust me, I know things can be a little overwhelming sometimes and I don't want you feeling like that.

Anyways, just checking in. Get back at me if you need anything Don.

Thanks Nicole. I'm just starting out. Having the usual newbie mistake's, realizing them, hopefully I don't repeat them and moving on. I'm not a techie, so even following the lesson's it's sometimes difficult. Even for someone like me they are not fool proof, cause I messed around and lost all my content for one of my domains trying to move it. Fighting the depression of having to start from scratch again. Sometimes that's the best thing that could of happened.
Reply
NicoleJBN Premium
I'm truly sorry to hear this. Losing all the content is a big bite to chew on. I've been there and it felt like the world just came down on you. This will go away as you proceed because you're going to gain more experience.

This journey is a learning curve and what you don't know today and think you'll never know, you're going to know about it soon and be able to help others.

Trial, error and disappointment are part of this journey. They belong to success like air to our lungs. :)

Take care,
Nicole

YeeeeS I like the positive attitude. Im still thinking about some Ideas, nothing concrete at the moment. Plus Im still trying to get the whole understanding about online marketing. Physical(for want of a better word) marketing is what I know and Im good at. So this is new.

It's kind of like writer's block. I just took two things that I like to do and started writing about them. I thought I needed be an "expert" or at least have some kind of ranked knowledge with people before starting a website. I know now that's not the case. Pick a hobby you like, think of a simple "how to do something" you like to do, and start writing about it. It doesn't have to be pretty and the more you write, and re read your stuff, then you add more content or delete some of it, what ever you like, then scroll through the whole page of stuff you just wrote about, click, add an image at the top of the page, click search for files, either search your own computer form pic's that seem relevant to what your writing about or goggle the topic your writing about and click on one of the site's that show's up. Scroll through it. If you see a photo you like, put your cursor on it, then right click your mouse, click on"find this photo in google". I find that if I do that I can get many different sizes of that photo and I don't have to worry about cropping them. When you find it on google and you like it, right click your mouse and click "save this link as", your computer pictures file will pop up, type in a label you want to remember the photo for and save it. Then when you want to add images to your content you have them in your computer under pictures. You may already know how to do all of this, then I'm just ramblin on, but it might surprise you to know there a lot of people on here that are not familiar with how to do that. Anyway, if ever you need help, catmando is a click away. Peace

Awesome! Hello Donrw059, welcome to WA and thank you for the follow. Whats the biggest nugget you have found, and what kind of metal detector did you use? That in itself would be a 24/7 adventure. But you do need an income to pay taxes, so it is good you are here. This is the best place to be to learn how to earn an income on the Internet. The community here is also the best. If you need anything, just holler. My name is Ken. Much success to you!
Reply
donrw059 Premium
Thank you Ken. My biggest is a 1.2 oz nugget, found on the Klamath River where I prospect here in CA. I use a couple different detectors, one for coins, the Garrett ATPro and pro's brother the AT Gold, when I' prospecting. Both are great light weight machines and I have never had problems with either one. They are both submersible to 10 feet, which is why I have them, because sometimes I'm under water with them or wading near shore lines and beaches. Both machines have found treasure and gold, it just that the AT Gold has a higher frequency and can pick up a gold target quicker than the AT Pro can. Two machines with different operating frequencies and they can both target the same things, as any detector's can, just that a target on the AT Gold really lets you know you hit gold, by audio and numeric scales, where as the AT Pro has a gold setting, but more than likely what the scales reflect would be a signal in the silver range. Only way to know is to dig it up. I've located targets with the AT Pro at over a foot in depth, that's very good. The AT Gold has found targets at almost 10 inches, all depends on soil conditions. Can you tell I like this subject? Thanks again. Any suggestions for improving mt sites?
Reply
kmer6 Premium
I guess I am not trained well enough. Mine a Garrett, makes a sound, but I can not distinguish between old coins and beer tabs. This might be the perfect niche for you to get into. You know your detectors. You know the land, best places to start looking, etc. You might do very well indeed.
My first online experience was an eBay store, selling drop-shipped merchandise, one of my big sellers was metal detectors! Thank you very much for sharing with me. I will talk to you soon.
Ken
Reply
donrw059 Premium
Without getting into a lot of detail here, I can tell you, the only way that you will become proficient at detecting, is to spend time swinging your machine. It takes the average user at minimum 100 hours swinging time on there machine to listen to the different sounds it makes for the different targets. After you've been digging for a while, you'll figure out what a trash tone sounds like verses a target of real value. Beep, beep, beep high tone, equals a good target. A narled grunt, grunt deep tone is garbage. Practice and time will cure your systems. Count on it.

Good morning Don, your site goldhunter is starting to look good, I know your just starting out with your website, It would be great to see some content on your home page but other wise it's starting to look really good. I noticed in your privacy policy you can change the http:// and just use goldhuntersandtechnics.siterubix.com :)

Your other site looks good as well I think maybe changing ( at email@ http://metaldetectingbasics.siterubix.com) to ( @ email & at metaldetectingbasics.siterubix.com) I noticed you had 2 almost in the same line http://metaldetectingbasics.siterubix.com you can cut one out.

Hopefully that makes sense :)

As far as your unable to update. What is your content saved as?
You should be able to copy the content and transfer it to your new post or page. I like to use word-pad or notepad as a text doc.
Hope that helps

Thanks JJ122. Thanks for the feedback. It's like learning a new language. I read it, some of it I understand, most of it goes right over my head. Early this morning I upgraded to premium and I'm trying to adjust to what I'm looking at, trying to understand it and feeling a little over whelmed at this moment. Not much of this is making any sense. I'll get it, going to be a lot of trial and error, but I'll get there.

I'm an old man compared to your picture and I am, I've just never thought about putting any of my thought's on paper or print. It's a lot and sometimes it is so jumbled up, hard to get my thought's organized. It will happen as I gain the knowledge and experience. Kind of like learning how to think all over again.

Thanks Labman. My folks had a dog breeding kennel when I was growing up. I had my own collie growing up, had a couple labs when I was ducking hunting, a golden lab and a chocolate lab. Great water dogs, great companions. Best of luck for your on line success.

Thanks Nathaniell. I plan on breaking down the different aspects of gold mining from 1. the geology aspect, 2. where you find gold 3. what to look for in terrain features when searching for gold 4. how to test the area you want to prospect to see if it is worth the time and effort 5. figuring out what will be needed to "get the gold" once you've found it 6. how to process it 7. weighing your gold and finding out how much you have and how much it's worth 8. where to sell it and how to get the best price. What do you think? Also going to go into metal detecting for gold. Not necessarily all the different machines, maybe the difference in the two different types of machines, the frequencies the machines run at, what frequency works best for gold, platinum, silver and other metals as well as treasure hunting and coin detecting. Maybe something on where to go, that's not a hard one, but I don't like giving up my special places. I get that question all the time. I'll have to think if I even want to go into telling someone where they can go. I tell them a place and the next thing I hear is they trespassed on private property. People don't use common sense and they don't ask permission, so maybe I just answered my own question about giving that kind of information out. It's the same in prospecting. Where do I go? Lately I tell people to just goggle it, where to go, They're going to put the horse blinders on anyway and not see a house or jump a fence to get somewhere they shouldn't be anyway. Anyway, think I have enough to come up with some good content?

Yes. That is basically your business plan right there (whether you know it or not, lol). People want to know stuff, and you are the man with knowledge. In fact, I think at some point you should write an ebook on it and really make some dough, but for now go through the affiliate training and get your site set up for that, and you can always write your ebook later and sell that on the same site.

Thanks nathaniell. I'm very familiar with a business plan. I have been a Licensed General Contractor in California for more than 25 years. I started by my self, worked up to multiple employee's with lot's of equipment, building custom homes, solar sub-divisions and high end luxury high rise apartment buildings. I would visit my business plan every 6 months to see if I was following my original plan or if it needed to be revised in some way. Most business owners would only have a business plan drawn up if they had to apply for a loan and if they got the loan the business plan was never seen again. You can tell a successful business from a mediocre to a poor business just by asking the owner if he/she has a plan. Most won't or won't want to talk about it. Shame really. Having a plan, making a plan and following it is like learning something new almost everyday. If you don't want to grow your business, don't have a plan. If you don't want to learn something new, don't open a book or ask a question. Same difference. I'm 60. I've tried a lot of things and as the song say's " things I liked, I tried them twice", but I've always had a plan. My bones are starting to hurt, so I have to turn to the internet now and I will do what I always do, work to make it work because this is what I want to do. I'm glad I found this site and I'm glad to have you around for the ride. Hold on with both hands if your coming along.
