Hey Friends, How Do You Conduct Research For Your Blog Post?

For the past 4 years, I feel bothered by the fact that I've created bad research habits when publishing articles.

I say bad because I felt like I can do more with my content, but for some reason, I settle with a "good enough" quality of output.

Last year, I maintained a 114-day streak of publishing an article a day, but that's because I limit the depth of my research on the topic I'm blogging (because it eats up a lot of time when done right).

I just hope this 2020, I could help make things right.

So if there's anyone out there who could share what worked for him/her when it comes to gathering knowledge and information before creating any content, I'd be so grateful for the advice.

Not only that, your tips would benefit the readers who'd see this post in the future!

Currently, the only thing I know of is gathering inspiration from the top results in Google and YouTube, then adding my own unique spin on it. Is anyone doing this technique as well?

Emails! I get TONS of stuff every single day that is easily content I can blog about on my website and if you join newsletters or subscribe to different places, they will send you new stuff on what you can look into and hopefully blog about depending on whatever your niche is.

I don't know what your niche is, but I'm in a health-related niche. I use one of the real sources, NCBI, for getting info on scientific studies as a basis for what my article is about. You can't argue with data. :) I suggest going to the deepest source you can access for your information. Then you really are an expert on the subject.

Hi Dominic, in the Live Events section there are 5 bonus classes in January, on is on this topic of research. They are called "case studies". Maybe you can find them? The one I mean is:
Live Class #3: Mastering Keyword & Market Research in Your Niche.
Date: Jan 17th, 2020 5PM PST

What keywords should I choose? How do I research and find ideas for good content? What are the best sources of information that I can utilize to create authority website? What resources should I utilize to immerse myself into a niche to gain ongoing expertise?

These are all questions that are going to be answered within this live class. If you understand research, you understand just how broad the opportunity is online. An authority business can lead to a lifetime of growth and evolution and this reality exists as a result of your ability to research.

I am still in the beginning. I bought some books on the topic, I read them and want to compose articles out of it, also with my own spin. And I use Jaaxy to get good keywords. Someone mentioned to me to join online communities in your field, there you can also read about your topic and even ask questions.

I do an in depth research. Yes it takes me longer. I look at other top ranking posts, look up definitions of words so I have a complete understanding and I use Wikipedia a lot. We can rank above our competition by publishing better content and more words.

With that said, it is easy to get lost in the research and start adding a bunch of no nonsense words that take up space and lose the interest of the reader.

It’s all a fine line that I cross back and forth all the time.
