As mentioned above, I'd like to know if the Gravatar is connected to my social media accounts - and which are the most important social media portals?
Looks like you are well covered here by Kyle with some excellent insight and guidance.
Please let us know if you still have any questions.
-Mike
No, Gravatar is owned by Wordpress and will only be used where you use that specific email on Wordpress based websites, and other associated entities. It has no relation to other platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tik Tok, etc.
I hope this clarifies for you here Fabian!

Exactly as Kyle mentions, it is connected to your WordPress if it has the same email address when registered.

I would like to add text besides the pictures I use, maybe like this:
On the left a picture, and on the right, maybe diagonally, as in cascades, the text.
Can you
You accomplish that by right or left aligning the photo. If you right align the image, the text will wrap left, and if you left align the image, the text will wrap to the right of the image.

Hi,
as mentioned above, I would like to have a main category which is visible from the main menue, and then put two sites under it where I post regularly, with articles
To piggyback on Abie…I think you mean subdomains — categories do not cross websites.
-Mike
Hi Mike,
I think you are right, it's about subdomains....the pages I want to see when I click on the main pages, which are shown in the main menue of my site. Any advice on this?
Thanks
Do you mean categories or subdomains as two separate websites?
Resource WordPress Tutorial - Creating Categories You can do a subcategory by shifting it slightly to the right under the main one.
You can input # in the URL if you do not want the main to do anything.

Hi, as the title of the question says, I need a tutorial for how to do a backup for a hard drive. Thanks in advance!
You are well covered here by Abie with some excellent guidance. Please let us know if you still have any questions.
-Mike
You can use the AIO WP Migration or Updraft plugins. UpdraftPlus is a premium and highly recommended one.
If your site is hosted here, site support backs up sites daily.

As asked above, I'd like to change my website layout to a more modern looking Wordpress layout, with the bigger fonts. Can you also give me a tutorial for setting up the new la
most of the themes in the repository ( appearance>>theme>>popular) are modern looking...of especially the popular ones...
i tend to go with blocksy, kadence or oceanwp ...
setup a siterubix site to have a play with them and see what can be done...
you have something in mind so draw it out and see if you can create it with any of these themes...
most of these you can setup the typography to what you want ...just be aware if you use a lot of fonts this may have an impact on the loading speed of your pages...
tutorials can be got from the theme homepages - as you can imaging having 9000 odd tutorials - one for each theme - would be a nightmare...
note that going premium on the theme will get you more features....
and then you can look into the newer full site editing themes wordpress has - i would have a go with twenty twenty two and see what it is capable of...
You want to make sure they are responsive, extremely light, fast, well coded, SEO optimised, flexible, adaptable and customisable
You may try GeneratePress or Premium where you can extend the theme and can have many layout templates.

Kadence WP with Kadence blocks

Blocksy

To change your theme, here is what to do.
You may go to Appearance > Themes and add new.
Input what you are looking for, install and activate.
Your content will be left intact, you may lose out on CSS styles and social media icons if that, however with a bit of tweaking and you are done.
We always recommend you leaving a back up theme, you may od with the Twenty TwentyThree.
I hope this helps
Hi Fabian.
When you enter the dashboard - appearance - theme,
you can find and choose the one you like the most. You have free ones and paid ones.
Each theme has descriptions and what the theme contains, explore and choose what seems most appropriate to you.
Greetings,
Slavka
