WA is already a cloud-based web "app" and is already quite mobile friendly. I do not see what benefit there would be in creating a mobile app for it. Same thing with the desktop app; especially since it would require an active internet connection. A desktop app would be better suited to something that could be used in an offline environment.
I think their time would be better spent towards updating the classroom and other content, as many of the videos are from over 6 years ago and have been outdated since Google's "SEO killer" updates.
Just my 2 cents.
Maybe taking into an account trends of the past years??? When apps are absolutely dominating
A site could easily be ported to an "app" using a simple HTML grabber code, I suppose.
I hate to play devil's advocate on this subject, but my previous point was don't "fix" what isn't broken. Making an app for a perfectly functional web system that's already very mobile friendly is just asking to open a can of live worms. It's going to be very messy, not to mention take a lot of time, effort, and development costs.
What benefit or profit would you foresee there being in making one, aside from user convenience? I can only foresee expenditures doing that, especially on Apple's platform.
Don't forget that any app you put up requires you to give up on average 30% of any sales through that app. This would mean that it would cut into the potential that users would make from advertising this site as an affiliate.
To bypass this, users would have to be redirected back to the original website in order to sign up for a premium account, defeating part of the purpose of having an app in the first place.
