Losing Traffic - And Money

I am not sure what happened, or why, but over the last couple months my traffic has been steadily dropping, and therefore, so have my earnings. I have no idea why...I have been doing the same thing I have always been doing, writing articles and making product recommendations. I used to have almost 3000 visitors a day, now I have gone down to 1500.

It is terrifying!! I rely on my affiliate income to support myself and my kids. I cannot have this continue.

I have hired someone on Upwork to help get my rankings back up, and I sure hope it works. It is scary hiring someone to mess around on your site.

I need to start new sites, I need other sources of income, I can't rely on one site for all of my revenue.

I just thought I would share, as it is a reality many of us face as affiliate marketers, especially when we have all of our eggs in one basket.

Have you ever had a site drop in traffic? Were you able to get it back up?

This is interesting to find out...

One thing I can say is that if you use PPC ads, like Bing (Microsoft) ads, you will find that your site will be ranged on Page 1 regardless of what Google does.

It will be ranged on Bing (Microsoft) search engine, but that is still a huge slice.

Eugene has written an article on PPC marketing and I wrote a post 2 days ago regarding creating winning PPC ads. It is easy and does not have to cost the earth.

Kyle also has a section on how to create PPC ads and scale them in Affiliate Bootcamp.

I understand you have kids, but if you have any spare time, do give Kyle's training a go over.

Take care and I hope your audience goes up again. Oh yes,
Pinterest is another search engine you could use - If you have Tailwind, you can drive up your traffic immensely and fast. Plus it's free...(Well Tailwind isn't!)

All the best,#

Stella

How are you doing now? Yes my traffic dropped a lot last year. I was just wondering what happened since your last post! Hopefully it's improved!

Hope everything works oit

They always tells us you should not keep all the oranges on one bucket try to subdivide into different bukets for obvious reasons.

Andrea,
I am new to this and Social Media scares me to death
but according to others this is a great way to get organic
traffic to our sites so this is what I have been doing. Do
not know if you use it but others seem to be seeing a
drop in traffic also I noticed other blogs saying the same
thing. :(

hi dj-rea,
I happened to find this post while browsing. Many people when starting out their business don't use SEO as their main traffic source. Why because their sites are brand new and won't start ranking after a few months. So how do they get traffic? Many people are using social media, specifically Pinterest for traffic. With a good Pinterest plan, you can get the same amount of traffic that you had with SEO. Some people have over 50k plus monthly views with Pinterest alone. Give it a shot and let me know how it went.;0)

Yeah, there have been a couple big Google updates in the past couple months. One of my 3 sites was decimated!!! Lost more than 75% of traffic. Another lost about 10%. I've heard that people in health-related and finance-related niches have been hit particularly hard. Yes, it's always a good idea to diversify with other sites.

yeah, we were definitely hit with a Google update!
