Our paths might not always be easy

Some days it seems like we are moving uphill on a slippery mountain. Other days you might feel that you are sinking in an ocean of "things to do."

Some days I've felt like I was running on marbles.

Running as fast as I could and not getting anywhere.

The truth is, most businesses, not just affiliate marketing, have those days. It's part of the process. Those hurdles provide important learning opportunities.

Welcome them, Use them. And keep moving forward.

If this path was a walk in the park, imagine the foot traffic you'd have to navigate.

It's not easy. And most people give up because it's not what they thought it was.

They think, "Write some words and post to social media? Sure, I can do that, no problem."

Then reality hits. This takes time and learning. Even if you know your topic quite well, you need to research to add more.

Some days are a breeze.

Everything just falls into place, as it should.

But many have a few stumbling blocks. I liken them to those speed bumps which are really, "slow down" bumps.

And there are a few days I've looked back at what I've accomplished and wonder why I even opened a computer page.

Thankfully, those days are few. Most fall in the middle. I've hit some snags but found my way around them. Success!

But I think it's important to remember that on any of those days, even the worst of the worst, we can find accomplishment. Maybe you learned a new skill or found a different technique. Maybe you found another way to fail.

As Thomas Edison once said,

I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.”

But when you find another way that won't work, you are close to the one that works well. It's a bit like taking a trip. Since we aren't in the Jetson's age yet and we don't have the Star Trek transporter, any trip we take requires passing other places before reaching that hoped-for destination.

However, on the way to that destination, you might find a few interesting ideas, places to visit, and even a new interest. Enjoy the trip, speed bumps and all!

Oh yes, Diane, I can relate. Especially because I suffer from shiny object syndrome. I love learning, I get excited about new possibilities so I flit from course to course and don't stop to master the basics. Somehow in the chaos of my process, I've managed to make some money and help some people along the way but I know I would be doing so much better and giving so much more to others if I had the patience to stick with one site, one income strategy and see it through. This year, I plan, yet again to slow it down and do it properly. Diligently follow the training taught here and crack Affiliate marketing.

It does seem that many of us here at WA suffer from shiny object syndrome. I wonder how that percentage compares to the average adult population.

Ahh one of my favorite scientists - Edison, his unyielding drive has motivated me since I read of him in elementary - and such moxie is what we must employ on this journey.

Hey Sir Edison - your strength is driving us forward, failure or not- To Success with an unyielding will 🐫🌞

He had that ideal mix of wisdom, inquisitiveness, motivation, and perseverance!

Thomas Edison was wise and not negative about fail it was a positive.

That is quite true! I like that "I can do it with enough trying" attitude!

Great post as always Diane.

I have definitely had days where I felt I was running on marbles, they seem to never end!

But when the marble obstacle course eventually finishes, even if you think nothing has been achieved, reflect on the short journey you have taken and maybe the progress you have made will surprise you!

That is so very true, Nick. Sometimes the progress doesn't show right away, either. All in good time!

Indeed Diane, all in good time.

Excellent Post & Share Diane. Fortunately we have many tools to help us overcome these problems. If we can keeps our heads above water and stay positive one can keep from drowning. The only way can get over that is by putting our mind in a state that it was when we were motoring right along. It is not easy to do, but we have to or change it and/or do something else until the proper frame of mind returns. Good Luck.

Yes, Ed, that is quite true. We have to keep moving to avoid getting lost in the tides.
