Wednesday Wisdom: Just Go For It!
I start my days early, usually well before sunrise. It's my quiet time to set the tone for my day. After letting the dogs have a few minutes outside, we come back in, get our first (of many) cup of coffee, turn on the morning news, and grab my laptop.
After a few minutes of checking emails and messages from overnight, I begin planning and researching. Although I have a monthly planner set up, I tend to allow myself flexibility. If I feel more like writing than doing keyword research that day, that's the road I take. As long as everything is accomplished along the way, I'm free to make those choices.
Last evening I was thankful for having worked ahead on articles. It gave me the flexibility to take a little time off from writing and make a delicious (and healthy!) vegan stew for dinner. On busy days, I often give a recipe to one of the kids (waves to Rebekah, though sometimes it's Joshua--he's a great cook, too!) and I keep writing while they create our evening meal.
But last night I wanted to make the stew. It gave me time to chop, sauté, add a bit more herbs (love the aroma and flavors) and enjoy some kitchen time.
That was Tuesday. Today is Wednesday. Time to finish some started tasks and work on new ones. And I'm ready for that. Because I allowed myself the time to create a delicious vegan stew.
Crazy? Maybe a little. But the point is, while I could have pushed myself to continue working a couple more hours yesterday, it would have affected my morning work, maybe the entire day.
Sometimes we all need to take a short break. Breathe deeply. Go for a walk. Brush the dog (yes, I find that relaxing). Or just make dinner.
And then Wednesday comes about and I am ready to jump back in and accomplish more!

I agree with break time, Diane. The little secrets that help us have a more flexible schedule are an important part of what makes our world go around,
I like keeping things neat but go through careless times. When we get littered with items just not put away, I get antsy, so a break for me is to take an hour and just pick them up and put them away.
To have things straightened up well when I sit back down at the computer gives me a feeling of control. That seems to free the muse for me.

I do what I can when I can, Diane. Not a day goes by when I am not involved with WA in some way. Some days, I will start down some path, usually writing, and I will shut down mentally, so I stop. Then I'll do housework or watch a movie, and eventually, in hours or the next day, I'll get back in the swing of writing again.
