Today's Path is Different

By Necessity, today's path is different...

One of my furkids, Fire, was referred to a cancer treatment center for what they suspect is lung cancer. We'll know the results of the needle biopsy on Monday. I'm hoping for good results! But whatever comes back, I am quite thankful Fire is sleeping beside me as I write this.

So, instead of my usual routine of website work, I started the day (after coffee, of course) with a trip to the cancer center. It's said to be one of the best in the country and they certainly are impressive.

The center always seems to be busy (based on phone calls in the past) and today was no different. In the two hours we were there, we saw many pets (mostly dogs) taken in and out of the facility. They are still running on the pandemic system where they come to the car and take the dog in, then return her with the vet to explain everything, car side.

The care they gave Fire was an incredible blessing. She's a toy poodle, so easily carried. But they carried her so carefully and showed such care and concern, even giving her a special goodbye pat. Their job cannot be easy, dealing with what is usually seriously ill and often terminal patients and their families.

And this goes back to the SUPPORT issue I raised a few days ago.

These vets and techs offer an incredible support network. I'm hoping that Fire doesn't need it for long as I hope she is able to make a quick recovery. But even if she does, it is comforting to know that they are there.

And with so many animals in need of medical treatment, it is wonderful to know that we have such places available.

Likewise, having a training and support network like Wealthy Affiliate is also quite incredible! For those hoping to leave a job or adding a side gig, the support here can seem like recovery from where life currently has them.

Your support network is the solid ground from which you can propel yourself upwards.
---Anna Barnes, How To Be Resilient

What a relief to know that when you need a little help, the kind people (owners, leaders, members) of Wealthy Affiliate are there to offer it!

And, lest you think that only longtime WA members can offer support, consider this quote:

Each of us has the power to inspire or depress, to lift others or to push them down. ---Wilferd Peterson

My path today is different than most days, but my determination and positive approach to life is not. How is your day?

Sorry to hear about Fire. It's so hard to see them go through something like that. They're just like any other member of the family. I hope she does well.

As far as our WA support team, they're the BEST BUT I've been here long enough to hear of some people having real issues with their family/friend support. Sad really.

Best wishes to you.

~Debbi

Thank you, Debbi. Fire and our other furkids are definitely part of our family.

And I agree -- I've also heard that some people don't have the family/friend support. I'm fortunate that my family still at home is quite supportive and one of my sons living away is also an affiliate marketer. But I know many rely only on the support here. So, it's good that they have that, at least. But you are right--sad that their home family is not part of that support.

Diane, I really appreciate your blog. You are so right! Many people, unfortunately, are not blessed with a solid support network.
It means so much to hear kind words of encouragement to someone who may be lonely or discouraged in some way. I am sorry to hear about Fire. I lost my "Little Bear" in 2018 from a stroke, and my "Buddy" from cancer a couple of years earlier. They were the loves of my life; my two little guards who were always there. Fire has a lot of love in his life, I can see that. I wish you both well and hope for the best outcome possible. I Love the quote; perfect timing! Thank you for sharing. My prayers are up for you and Fire.

Thank you so much, Denise!

In 1996 after we moved back from California, I getting ready to go out the door on a business trip to England for my own 1 person company. We had this little looking poodle, not genuine but looked like the real deal. He was rolling over & over I forget what he was having but it was the same as a few weeks before. So we had to call a Vet to come out and he had to put him to sleep. I had no way of cancelling my trip so I had to go quickly to Boston and catch my Plane for London and then a trip to the far west side of the England coast. It was a sad trip but I got through it. I can appreciate what you are going through.

Oh, I am so sorry you had to go through that, Ed. These furkids wind themselves into our hearts so tightly, that the loss is incredibly difficult.

Very nice analogy, Diane, and I hope that Fire is okay!

Jeff

Thank you, Jeff.

You're welcome, Diane!

Wish you the best with your pooch Diane.

Thank you, Roger. She has a strong will to live, so that will help.
