Frustrating is mounting.
I have to say when I started this that I was so excited, I didn't care that I had to pay to be part of the site. It's been almost a week and the amount of frustration I am feeling seems to be going up. I have been doing the lessons, trying to follow what Kyle says needs to be done, but I don't feel like I am making any ground. Coming up with quality contact has been very difficult for me.
To make my frustration worse, I purchase a new domain to better reflect what my site was going to be promoting. I spent a day and a half working with support trying to get the site to open up so I could work on it and bring my vision to reality.
I was finally told, they didn't know why it was doing that. At that point I was ready to cancel my account. It felt that was a reflection on the level of commitment toward making my site a success.
Finally today, as a last hope, I tried the site again and it opened up. So I am going to stick it out a little longer. I have to be honest, I am not sure this is the right fit for me.

Hey Diane, no problems...my first week or so I was up and down with problems too until I get a better handle on things. Hang in there, it gets better and easier....and don't forget to get help from the community as well. :))

Diane - Happy Thanksgiving! I hope Black Friday is not generating your frustration. I know I am not worrying about it. I am setting my first site up as a siterubric domain. I feel good about the name I selected. (I dropped my first choice name and spent seven hours working on a better name.) So, I got to redo some things over again - repetition is a good way to learn. I am committed to working through the lessons, and I hope you are too. What we are doing is complex. But, it is worth the work. Hang in there. You can do this, and in due time you will reap the benefits.

My frustration has nothing to do with black Friday it has to do with spending money I really don't have and a slow turn around time.

ANYTHING new has a learning curve - honestly, I'm really pleased you've made some progress that will make you stick it out a little longer.
If it makes you feel any better - I have been programming for 25 years, doing websites for 15 years or so - I came here a year or so ago, and thought I knew nothing at all. Some of the things I was asking, looking back now, I cringe at - however, if I didn't ask them, I wouldn't have learned... I was able to bring my programming and html knowledge, and helped a lot of people, which encouraged me a lot to stick with this new "marketing" thing I knew nothing about - and I got help from people who knew nothing about websites, but knew a lot about marketing.
My point is, each of us have our own experiences in life/business/pleasure whatever, to share here. Just immerse yourself in the community - every question you have, or problem (with websites or whatever) you overcome - you then have that knowledge, on top of what you brought here yourself, to share and help other people with.
I still don't know if marketing is the right fit for me - but the underlying pleasure I get here, is it's full of people like me - looking for something to better ourselves and our families, and to help others.
I don't bet, but if I did, I would bet if you looked back in say 1 month's time, at what you know then, to what you think you know now - you will have gained so much knowledge and experience - and I also know that you will have answered many questions that others were asking, but didn't know the answer to - technical issues or just plain marketing knowledge issues - they are the same.
