Hello friends!

I just want to pop in here to say to you all that I've been missing this platform and community so very badly. As you know, I've had to pause for the other cause--getting back to work, teaching, and also starting the actual physical part of my website. It's ambitious enough to take on creating an online business in the first place, but oh no, I had to go and do what I always do, and I guess that's ok. So, my website, which is still in the same place content-wise as it was 7 days ago, is based on the Tuscan/Italian Countryside Remodel I'm doing on my home. The timing couldn't be helped, and so returning to school to teach 8th/9th graders and starting the enormous project isn't what I would really choose right off the bat; however, I'm so excited about this that the exhausting double-time I have to pull in order to do it just isn't scaring me....yet. I'm sure you all know what I mean.

I know you are all in the same boat, and I probably don't have to send this message, but I feel staying connected is a very important part of this entire process. I've been browsing my email and I see how much all of you are contributing to the platform with your awesome topics and sharing of ideas. I have so much content of my own that's ready for final drafting, but I have to actually proceed with the remodeling. So, it's a very detailed process for me, and while I appear to have vanished off the face of WA Planet, I'm still here! And I can't wait to get back into the swing of communicating with you. It will be very soon!

I see some of you have messaged me and some of you have comments. I will be back online, chatting and sharing this weekend.

And yes, I know that we are all doing the same thing---that this part of the business is the extra stuff---I just want to pop in and send you all my update anyway!

I hope you are all doing excellent in your adventures and I'll be this weekend!

Have a wonderful rest of the week!

Diana

Welcome back!

Thanks, Tas88!

nice to see you are still here Diana. I am still working on my site myself. Hope you have great success with yours.

Hey Mc7791! Did you ever get that picture up? I'm not mixing you up with someone else, right? Didn't you have a question about your main photo? The reason I ask is because I have been thinking about pictures---I can't figure out why my different pages don't allow me to have different pictures. You know what I mean? Like if you go to my "About" page, you scroll down, and I added a picture there, but it's not like you click "About," and then a new, big picture shows up, and then the information. Know what I mean? Is that because of the theme? Have you ever changed up themes after starting? I mean, I'm still stuck on "About" and "Policy..." they are completed, but they are the only 2 things there, and I just have to post this weekend! haha..

However, as I have stated to all of my "replies," I have been developing content in a different way: working on the remod is the basis of all my content----well, the majority of all of it!

I'm glad you are doing well, and that you are keeping at it! Maybe you can give me some pointers with the technical stuff! Like, at this stage, what can i expect now?

What a wonderful presentation of a life! Thanks for the Share!

Thank you, Shields! And I believe that we've talked before, right? You are very kind with those lovely words! How is your business coming?

Glad to see you're still hanging in there!

Hey! Piasan!

I'm still here! I'm still standing! In the area where I live, in Macomb County, Michigan, about 35 -40 minutes North-East of Detroit, all of the major building contractors and almost every construction company is an Italian-owned operation. I've been around construction all of my life, but never--NEVER---saw myself doing anything like that---and here I am now....soon, I'll be learning how to use the Miter Box Saw, the Table Saw--ahhaha....and I painted my daughter's room this week...well, it's a loooong story, and that's why it's a website, but I guess, as I explained to Skyhorse, that all of the improvements I make are the content. So, I guess I'm more than still here...but now, I just gotta get the content up!

How are you doing with it? This is so new to me! I love it though! What's your site about? Have you been doing this long?

: )

Di

Greetings, amica mia from Michigan!

I'm having fun with this too and I'm fairly new at this myself although I poked a bit at it six years ago then left it (long story there). WA existed then and it still does now so I know there's no question as to its legitimacy, so I'm sure it's just a matter of continual study and effort to achieve eventual success.

I had to lay it aside a little lately because 1/ I'm in the middle of a move and 2/ My feline friend of 15 years has been ill this past month, got worse this past week, and after five visits to the vet ($500 worth) - found out she was full of cancer, so I had to euthanize her yesterday.

I got good and drunk the following evening (needless to say this cat and I were close - maybe too close) to mourn her proper, got up the next day (today), took her body to a forested slope, and with my head still spinning from the previous nights alcoholic effects, dug a three foot deep hole and laid her to rest (with her scratching board poking up from the ground as a grave marker).

Sorry if I ramble but this is who I am - my friends may walk on two legs or four. So, you want to know "what' s my line" do you? (remember that old game-show? maybe not, as it might have been a little before your time). Anyway, my niche is all about aquariums. I haven't got much content going yet (still working on ways to customize my site the way I want it - it's a work in progress, but then again: most websites are), but feel free to check it out at www.myaquariumlife.com. I guess I'll have to make a sad revision at the bottom of the "About Me" page.

So that's where I'm at and how crazy is that?

Choo! Choo!

Cool, glad to know you are ok. And like Rick said, no worries. We all have life around this business and community.

Hey Skyhorse!! Yes....I'm still here and I do intend on getting back to you!! I will as soon as I finally post articles! haha...I sound like a broken record, but seriously, I went back to work (one week down) and it's always so tiring the first week--especially as I get older---man, I felt it today! And the stupid shoes I wore today! Dumb idea. However, all week, I'd come home and paint one wall in my daughter's room; we are starting with her, so that we can get her all settled as soon as possible.....the rest of the place can fall apart, just as long as Francesca's room is ready! She has this extra - extra child energy and it never stops, so without the routine and things in order, she is like one of those squirrels on the cartoons that just ate a candy bar for the first time! POP!! ZZZZZBANG! BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM! HAHA..HELLLLP MEEEE! hahaha..

It was fine in the summer because I wasn't working and I could balance myself with the creative stuff with WA; but now, it's only the first week, and I feel like it's May again! Oh Lord, help me now!

Sooooo.... I finished the first paint phase. Now, we can add in the furniture, and I'll finish base boards and closet and our "hands." we are dipping our hands in Antique White and then placing them on the freshly painted light Lilac wall, the light Sage wall, the Sky Blue, Skyhorse, wall, and the pale, antique pink wall. THIS WAS ALL HER IDEA. She's had a really rough couple of years, so I let her pick this one. However, she is a little talent for art, I think, but I guess all of us moms think our kids are talented. haha...

Anyway, it really does blend, and I'm going to stencil in peace signs and flowers to mix it up. Here's the fun part though, EVERY WALL IS A CHALK-PAINT WALL, so the whole room is virtually a chalk board! We already tried it and it's sooo cool! OH! And I made the chalk paint myself! (So, you see, I had to do this first in order to really create true and authentic content.)

Anyway, I have been working on the site in a different way. Right? haha...

I hope you are doing well! I've been wondering and I will message you back very soon. I'm in the last stretch....for this round, anyway!

THANK YOU FOR ALWAYS REPLYING AND FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Diana

Of course!!! I am glad to know everything is well! And it sounds like you are having your own fun over there!!!

No worries, you're building a business here and there is no overnight genie that will create it for you. Do what you can when you can...as long as you're doing it.

Wouldn't that be great to have a genie?! I used to watch "I Dream of Jeannie" when I was a kid....I thought her bottle was the coolest! Although, it is rather fun doing it, I think.

Thank you, Rick, for your support and replies!
Good luck in your business!

I also considered the Tuscan/Italian Countryside Remodel, but decided it was much easier to move back to Italy and enjoy it there!!

Trialynn---OH YOU BRAT! Really??? Where are you living!? Do tell!
I miss my family a lot these days, as many of them are getting older--to old to travel...it hurts my heart to watch my grandmothers (well, one now) watch their brothers and sisters pass away so far away. I really want to get back to visit within the next 2 years. That's my secret goal...but so much has to be in place for me to do that.
I'm working on it, though.

So, you must tell me more!!
D

Great to see you back. ; O)

Thanks, Wtbee! Glad to be back!! And I was saying to Mr. Bill---I for sure, 100% -no matter what happens---am posting material this weekend!

I'm actually so excited to do so. I've been writing in my journal books and I do most of it in my head--I'm used to writing songs with my band, but they usually take the music and I come in with lyrics. Teaching, when I didn't have a family, was what filled my other creative brain (other than music), and that job takes sooooo many hours to do it correctly; I just got used to having to write ideas while driving to work, or being at work, or working out. I trained my brain to actually remember things in chunks--like short paragraphs, and I would never go beyond a certain amount, or else I'd lose it all.

I was sick after my pregnancy with my only daughter in 2006; I had a severe case of preeclampsia, and would you know that I couldn't do my writing thing anymore?! I lost all of my creative skills for a good long time---almost 5 years. The guys in my band were the most unnerved by it because we got used to writing many songs in a short period of time--we all click and it is always an easy task for us, but all of a sudden, it was like a switch was turned off. It was horrible!! haha..I laugh now, because there were many funny moments about my memory issue. Anyway, now, it's coming back, so while I've been going back to work, I've been writing my content in my head again. This weekend should produce for me!

I have never been this far in the website game.....so as soon as I post, I have to get back to my classes online with WA because I have no idea what to do next! haha..( I mean, I do understand the process, but just never did it!)

I hope you are doing well, and thanks for reading my blabber and for responding! I hope I don't write too much! Sorry about that! : )

~D

Good to hear from you, Diana! I also considered a Tuscan/Italian Countryside Remodel for my own home, but eventually I nixed the idea for fear my house would clash with the Early American Poor theme that runs rampant through my neighborhood. Good luck with the project, and we look forward to seeing you again! :-)

Oh Mr Bill that wouldn't clash at all.... just blend a little, maybe noone will notice.... ;-)

Hey Mrbill74! You know, I bet you can toss a few things in here and there in each room...and color would be the thing to watch--choose colors that are from the same palette of the Early American (and...since I am not an Art major, or interior designer by any means--I can say this next part and get away with it..) what is "Early American Poor?" Am I lookin' stupid right now? haha...but was that your spin, or is that a real name to a real style? haha..ok, anyway, take the colors from the Early American (Amish?) palette---not that I'm sayin Amish are "poor" ...ahahaha..I'm laughing over here....I hope I'm not offending anyone!! Ok, as I was saying....use that color scheme, but put it on a Tuscan texture. I bet that would be cool. It could be as subtle as a collection of frames (either on the wall, or displayed on a table), or it could be a chair, or side table....or lamps---like lanterns and sconces.

Ok. I'll stop! Sorry! You just gave me a bunch of ideas! haha..thanks!

Anyway, I'm really just using a bunch of books, and the articles I write are supposed to be from the perspective of a very, very amateur decorator point of view. So, the fact that I don't know is part of my niche. I'm preparing myself mentally for the replies I might get that are less than excited and maybe a little "what the heck is that?" attitude! haha..

We'll see!

I really, really, really am going to load a bunch of content this weekend. I have so far broken my promises 3 times the last 4 or 5 weeks...but this time...this is the time! I have to start now or I'm going to be buried in content! haha...

Take care and thank you so much for replying and showing support. This is really the coolest forum I've ever been a part of.

: )

I'll keep this short so you'll have plenty of time to bury yourself in content. Yep, Early American Poor was my own spin on the situation. Early American Grunge, Early American Slop. Early American __________ (filling in the blank with anything tawdry will work). Speaking of sconces, about a month ago I bought two nice ones at a garage sale for 25 cents apiece. My girlfriend made me do it. Even though it wasn't my idea, you're still proud of me, right? :-)

Welcome back diana

Thanks, Angelsway! I am so blessed to be part of this community! I can't believe how supportive everyone is here! Thanks for the reply!
