Site Comments at WA
This is just a quick post to say that I love the idea of the Site Comments feature here at Wealthy Affiliate.
A comment can provide a number of benefits. They can give a lot of encouragement to the website owner and motivate them to do their best. It enables them to clarify things and answer queries.
Comments can also be constructive, informing the website owner of possible issues in their content.
But usually, they are positive and can help to some degree with SEO.
Unfortunately however, in today's day and age with AI and text/content spinners, I have noticed that Comments are not always genuine but rather bot Comments and comments that are rehashed/"spun" versions of other Comments by another user on the same article.
This is a big shame, especially if the website owner has had to spend hard earned WA credits hoping for some genuine human engagement and feedback but only to be faced with lazy "commenters" who probably didn't even read a single sentence of the article but just started all this copying and pasting into AI softwares and content spinners, gaining WA credits for themselves in the process while yours have been wasted.
I recommend that you disapprove such comments if you notice that they are artificial or rehashed versions of other comments which I have, for a fact, experienced myself.
Enjoy your Day!

Hi Dominic
I totally agree.
Comments that are AI summaries of your article can hurt your SEO, not because they are written by AI, but because they add no value.
Google will hold you responsible in the SERPs, even though you didn’t write it, because it’s your website.
I have a guitar site and it typically took 1 or 2 weeks to get WA Site Comments. Now, I’ll get a site comment in less than one hour but it’s typically unusable.
However, there still are some high-quality commenters out there so don’t give up. 😎

When I did use the "give and take thread" for comments a few years back, I got about 10 of us together who would always comment on each other's posts, it got to the stage where we didn't "request", just sent a PM to all 10 people.
Sure, it does mean that the same 10 people would regularly comment on your posts, but that actually also looks quite genuine as many bloggers have "fans" who come back and read everything on their sites regularly.
Perhaps, we should start something up similar again.
That way you know the quality will always be great because you know who the people are who are going to be commenting.
Haha, great idea, Partha! 👍👍
Rock On! 🤘

Thanks Frank. Good points about AI summary comments not being good for SEO and I like Parta's idea:)
