I'm glad to be back

A newbie to the world of online marketing, it was in 2016 when I became a member of Wealthy Affiliate (WA) and canceled my membership after a year. Reason being was that I didn't have much time to focus on the training and came to a point where I was completely stuck at writing contents for my very first website, got lost somewhere and eventually gave up. Another reason was that, I was very eager to see results and was so impatient to get immediate profit from WA.

Stubborn and with insufficient knowledge, I thought I was ready to face the world of online marketing ALONE.... So with much desperation, I took the risk to cancel my membership and plunged into the world wide web with no idea where to go to and where to start.

But like a child in a candy shop, I didnt know which one to pick...there were a LOT of choices with great offers, freebies AND.... risks!

I opted to try my luck with different online platforms here and there. I went into joining those who claimed to be earning thousands of extra income in a few weeks of engagement. But nope, luck wasn't on my side and fortune was on someone else’s at this time.

For months and months, I tried enrolling myself into a number of digital marketing courses, joined other marketing platforms that taught me how to earn that extra cash. Unfortunately, I was not able to find what I really wanted, I was not able to get that money they promised I could have.

Unfortunately down the road and at some point, I always get lost and quit because of:

1. Information overload ( by the way, I am not a computer geek )

2. I was alienated by technical terms and phrases being used such as SEO, CPA, funnels, leads landing /squeeze page, email marketing etc. Drives me crazy! Not for a beginner like me.

3. Incomplete training.

4. Hidden up sells and additional purchases to advance and get sales..etc

For others, these techniques may be effective and helpful but not for me. So at this point, I had to hit the brakes and tell myself to stop.

Stop but not give up.

Stop, pick myself up again and move on... this time learning from experience and keeping in mind that I should not be alone in this journey. Accepting the fact that I truly need advise from experienced others to guide me through.

Despite all, I am still grateful that I was able to learn a lot and that I was able to open my mind to this world of online marketing. The journey and risks I have taken somehow led me into deciding and convincing myself to once-and-for-all choose who and where I want to engage myself into. Through an associate, I was effortlessly led back to Wealthy Affiliate :) and I feel great and energized!

Online marketing is like a jungle full of loops, swings and traps. The only way to survive it is to obediently learn and equip oneself with proper knowledge, skills and techniques and be surrounded with people who knows and have surpassed these loops, crazy swings and unexpected traps. A group of people who has a goal which is to survive and help each other find success in every step of the way.

I believe I am not the only one who had the same experience, all I can say is that it really is a jungle out there and I am glad to be back where I feel safe and home. Thanks to the WA community for welcoming me once again into the family.I'm so glad to be back.
