I went WAAAY out of my comfort zone the last couple of days!

I've gone so far out of my comfort zone that I may not be able to get back into my comfort zone, lol! Let's just say lately I've had an INTENSE drive to succeed, to work very hard, to start earning more money, the kind of money that I can start paying bills with and eventually live off of.

I've gotten into things I haven't really done before and yes I'll admit I've even gone after a couple of shiny objects, but this has actually turned out to be of great benefit, I'm just keeping my fingers crossed at the same time hoping I didn't make too much of a costly mistake (I can actually cancel before it becomes too costly).

Let's just say that one of the things I got into actually opened my eyes to email marketing and building a list and how easy it is to actually build a campaign and setup an auto-responder. I'll have to admit that even though I've been part of an email auto-responder for quite awhile and even a sign up form on my first website, I had been a bit intimidated to really get into it for fear of not understanding how to truly get a campaign started, how to best use an auto-responder and how to send follow up emails.

After joining this first shiny object and seeing the pre-made emails to use in follow up emails once someone joined, it made me realize the true importance of email marketing and building a list and now has me really thinking of some very big and ambitious stuff for my second website where I promote Wealthy Affiliate.

The second shiny object I joined (and upgraded to their pro membership) may actually be quite a major gem as I am ALREADY getting good results from just trying this out the last couple of days. It has to do with promotion by creating text ads that will automatically get sent out and seen by people who are looking to make money in the MMO niche so I am actually getting targeted traffic and I've been getting a lot of interest and clicks to an ad where I'm promoting Wealthy Affiliate. The other ad I have there is actually promoting the first shiny object I tried and I already got a referral to it.

I'm even trying out a solo ad site where people already have large subscriber lists and will allow you to send an offer/promotion to some or all of the people on that list for a fee. It'll be a few days before I see the full results of that to see if that is something that can be successful for me or not.

As you can see, I'm trying new and different things and willing to risks and I know that not all of it will be successful, but some of the things I'm trying is already producing some results so now I start focusing on what's working and seeing why I got that one referral and see if I can replicate that to better promote Wealthy Affiliate. That is what it takes, a willingness to try new things and get out of your comfort zone, but also continuing building your website here so you can get ranked in the search engines.

Finding our ways to success often takes us out of our comfort zones. Experimentation is great!

A word of warning, though: by subscribing to things that cost money, especially if that amount increases after a period of time or a number of items received increases how much you must make to get a ROI. This means that it will take longer to succeed.

Best wishes in 2018!

Anita

An update: Some of it didn't work out as well as I hoped so I did not stick with them, but one thing has as it brought me my very first referral to Wealthy Affiliate last year so I'll keep using that. It is time for me to do a reset though because I do lose my focus on things during the last part of 2017.

I lost some focus leading up to the holidays as well. I'm hoping to get back into a normal routine as soon as possible, but there is a lot going on this week as far as doctor's appointments for my sons, my husband and me. I even have to drive my husband. His appointment is to have his eyes checked by dilating them.

Next Monday I have my infusion, so I won't get as much done as I would usually, but after that I'm good to go and I have a lot of things planned for my site and more than a few articles to write. I have three of them outlined already and another one almost completed. I also have a lot of research done for articles, so I should be set to hunker down and write.

I'm planning for success in 2018 and expect nothing less of myself. I know you are, too.

Best Wishes,

Anita

Off the beaten path and out of your comfort zone is the only way to go. You're headed in the right direction. Onward!

Sounds good. Your experimenting to see what works and taking on a little risk. Keep going and let us know how it all turns out.

I think you are quite on track as you explore new ways to reach your destination. Am also planning to do the same now. I've been saying that I will employ an autoresponder but haven't yet I think am afraid of what I don't know. Which plugin are you using for that?

I'm using GetResponse and it is a good one. Awebar is another good one to look at as well.

How much are they costing?

GetResponse's starting price is $15 a month for 1,000 subscribers in your list. It then increases to $49 for 5,000 and then more if you have much higher then that.

It looks like Awebar stars off at $19 a month for your first 500 subscribers and then increases after that as well.

That's pretty good information I will see which one I can try. Seems that GetResponse has a better deal.

Sounds great. Wonderful strategic steps. Keep up the good work

Awesome...a step in the right direction.

It's known as building relationships with your customers before they actually buy something from you. This can be done through a newsletter, daily articles sent through an autoresponder to your customers. remember the ratio is 5 to 1--for every sales letter you send to make sure you send them something that has a take away for them---a reason to want to open your email when it comes

Thank you Brian for sharing. I realize that no venture, no gain is the way to keep things the same, just as commitment to calculated risks will get you moving, hopefully forward. I have been researching the success rate of pop-up notifications. All looks good, just the actual commitment to I am experiencing some procrastination.
Keep us posted on your success.

I really appreciate this helpful advice!.Risk accessing is a priority skill in my profession, but I've just realised that I'm not good enough at employing it on my own behalf!

Your post has reminded me that calculated risk should be a part of my role as owner of my own business. That and regular review of that risk should be a positive, productive element of my future success! Many thanks, Sue :)

What it takes is the ability to assess research and focus on shiny objects of choice, bring out and mine their practical values to assure a good path out of your comfort zone!

Agreed! I'm getting some positive things from them and at the very least it something I can make reviews of put on my site where I promote Wealthy Affiliate.
