What am I doing?

How can this possibly work for me?

What do I know about internet business?

With so many successful people here. What if I fail?

In the beginning.

I was doing so well, I followed the training and diligently completed my tasks to built my website.

I wrote content.

I added pictures

I received comments

I was so proud.

Look what I have achieved!

Then came the analysis of my website, What did Google think? Most of my posts were ranked, so I was happy they knew I existed, at least.

I shared on social media and achieved a few followers on Pintrest and Facebook.

Three months later.

So I am adding content, sharing and replying to comments and following the training but I expected there to be more interaction with my site by now. Where are all my visitors?

Time to check Google analytic again to see what's happening........... and that is when it happened.

Crash and Burn!

There are so few visits and when they do visit, they bounce right on out of there.

Oh no this isn't for me it's time to give this up and find a new JOB.

Well that is exactly what I did. I started my new job as an account manager with a fantastic company and good salary.....and great earning potential in commission.

So I stopped writing.

Stopped commenting here in the community

Stopped checking my site and adding new content......and that's when it happened.

Congratulations!

I received notification that I have been a premium member at WA for 6 months, Congratulations.

OK it's time to cancel my membership, why am i wasting my money?

I have failed!

So I open my dashboard to find out how I can cancel my membership, and I got side tracked by some blog posts which I started to read, and I read and read and read.

And boy am I glad I did. One success story after another, too many to mention, but here are a couple below.

So why am I not succeeding? Because I didn't follow the training. Well up to a point I did to get my site up and running but then I sat back and expected the $$ to start rolling in.

With so many people here, giving great advice, all one has to do is pay attention to what is being said.

Keep writing content, do keyword research, choose low hanging keywords, be active in the community. All the things I had given up on!

But most of all this is not a get-rich-quick scheme.

For so long we search the internet for a suitable business opportunities to provide us with the lifestyle we crave. The type of lifestyle which will allow us to be our own boss, work from anywhere in the world and earn a great living. Whether you are someone like me who wants to retire early, or you are a stay at home parent or college student, there is someone just like you, who has made a successful business with Wealthy Affiliate.

Patience is not my virtue

So after reading the success stories I started to get excited again, wanted to write content again, and get involved with the community.

I am happy to say I have decided not to cancel my premium membership, and have committed to doing whatever it takes to make this a success, and to change my life.

Being patient is a work in progress for me, but I am attempting to be more aware of my thoughts by practicing mindfulness and meditation, which seems to be working and helping me focus on what I want, and how to reach my goals.

So to all you successful fellow members at WA, I thank you, for it you did not share your stories and let everyone know how you were making a success out of this, I may have given up, and missed my opportunity to change my life.
