Amazon Disclosure Placement

The Amazon disclosure text that reads “As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.” has really been bugging me since I first heard that it has to placed near to every item we promote from Amazon.

So I took it upon myself to harass Amazon until I got a straight answer, I even drew a picture for them. Keep in mind that this is after contacting them once already.

Seriously! Check it out!

I said, Here is my site...

Thanks for putting up with me. This is what they said:

"Your Account Amazon.com
Message From Customer Service
Hello,

We do require Associates to identify themselves as members of the Associates Program.

You need to clearly state the following on your sites: “As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.”

This statement should be placed on a main page that includes links that refer your visitors to Amazon.com. You only need to post this information once within the same website.

You can read our full Operating Agreement here:

We hope to see you again soon.

As a new Amazon Associate, I was so frustrated with their rules, posting guidelines, and placement... I just deleted my Amazon Associate account. I applaud your tenacity in working with them and your bravery in challenging the big boys. I'm sending you good vibes and a wish for your continued success.

Haha, I'm too old to be afraid of anybody. Thanks very much, Virginia. It will be a pleasure to share your adventure here.

Hi, Dave

You are not allowed to add the price on an Amazon affiliate link.

If you use their native ad format, it will pull in the most current price each time the image is displayed.

I think it’s a better idea to leave the price off affiliate links. Many visitors will click on the link just to see how much the item costs.

While they’re on the product page most people will read a little of the description or the reviews.

In the case of Amazon, once s visitor is on their website they might buy something totally different.

I sell products on Amazon I’ve never even heard of and make a commission.

Thank you, Frank.

While I was composing my masterpiece above😒I decided, as an afterthought, to add in the "And Price Probably" to see if they would comment on it.

Just further proof that they don't care enough about my question to notice this glaring violation of their policy (that they are trying so hard to make crystal clear to me).

No worries though. On we go --->

Yeah, Dave

So far, so good with Amazon. Hopefully, it will stay that way! 😎

Rock On! 🤘🥁

That’s sounds about right for them. Thanks for sharing your frustrating experience, Dave.

Too big, just too big. They stopped caring long ago.

Thanks for sharing. I have a statement that I put on every post. It's highlighted in a box. I usually place it at the end of the post.

I think I'm going to throw it in the footer and call it good.

Good information, Dave!

Jeff

Thanks, Jeff. Trying to talk with giants like Amazon is like trying to talk with a stone.

Don't I know it, Dave, and I only deal with Amazon KDP!
