AND implemeted them

From previous blog posts I have written here, you will know that YouTube works very very well in terms of getting notifications into you inbox.

But this post focuses on

QUORA

In case you hadn’t heard of Quora, it is a question and answer social network

Quora is free to join

You can set up a profile there, which explains a little about you and you can connect, two social networks, Facebook and Twitter from you profile.

You can also set up a free blog as well, that blog is not allowed to be your WA blog, but one that sits on Quora, I’ll explain more on this in a bit : )

How it works

Is like this. You can ask any question you like about anything, or any subject

People reply to your question.

You select the questions you answer.

Quora, based on the questions you answer, will send you notifications to your email inbox

In my case I work centrally from and use Gmail, so i can react to the questions, much the same as I do here at WA

Now when you reply to a question, you do so in a comments box and as I have found doing this, if applicable, then you can add a link from your blog within the comments section, which explains your answer in more detail.

I get notifications from Quora daily on the subjects I have selected. One of those subjects is my niche subject and spookily enough, there are a lot of questions asked on this subject : )

The replies I give vary, but are always honest. Sometimes they include a link from my blog, sometiimes they don’t

BUT!

Which ever way I answer the question, the same thing happens

People either follow me, or specifically ask me a question on my niche. When this happens I include a link to my blog

As two exmples in the last 24 hours I have been followed by the CEO of a company

I have been specifcially asked a certain question relating to my niche

Neither of these two People I have met or know previously.

The actions I take are consistent, because I react from my Gmail to the notification,. So by default it will be daly.

When you take consistent action, again by default you are ‘showing yourself’ so people knoiw you are around and eventually, through the applied knowledge you share, at least 1 or 2 people will ask about your opportunity, through attraction

The Quora Blog

Quora also lets you set up a blog, which is attached to your profile there. You don't have to use it, but its yours. I haven't used mine yet, but have some ideas that I may well share on there. the purpose is to drive even more traffic to my profile there abd ultmately to WA

Whats the Time Factor Involved

I included this because I was asked this question either yesterday or the day before, regarding promotion of WA and doesn’t it take hours to do

My answer was No

Working the way I do, centrally from both WA and Gmail and using the Chrome Toolbar and associated apps, I can very easily work for anything up to 8 hours if I so wish and in doing so, I produce quality content and generate traffic at the same time.

But the main purpose of this post was to illustrate how well, Quora works when the training is applied. I had previously dabbled with it, but now its more focused and this is the result

Hope this post is beneficial to you

Hey Dave,
Thanks for all the great information. I also enjoy working in Quora.

Tried and True

Elaine

Yes it is

Thanks for this great info, i am definitely going to try it out.

I believe its well worth it

I hadn't heard of Quora before so this is all very interesting.
Do you know how big the network is, Dave? Is it as important as Twitter, Google+ and the like?

Not sure of the size of the network Sammy, but perhaps this will help a bit, it has a Page Authority of 41 and a Domain Authority of 92, so its well used in terms of its purpose

Also since adjusting my profile to reflect WA and My Niche, together answering questions on and in My Niche, I noticed that yesterday, just by answering about 4 questions, i crossed a 100 Views

What that does in turn is lead to people asking you specifically and directly about Your niche.

Not only that but, as you'll have read in the post above I get notified to in inbox of replies etc.

Is it as important as Twitter, Google+ and the Like, I don't know at this stage, but from a personal useage, i use it as much as YouTube, Linkedin and Google+

Bit long winded an answer, but It was required to be helpful.

Thanks Dave, seems to be quite a powerful social network.

I believe it is, the way I work it is answer the questions specific to my niche, but enclosing the blog / post link to the subject, which explains it in more detail

That way they get to see your blog and ideally will like what they asee and join!

Can we add a link to our website within the Quora blog, if not how do we use it to promote.
Thanks for very interesting info.
Colin

Colin, this section might answer your question

"Now when you reply to a question, you do so in a comments box and as I have found doing this, if applicable, then you can add a link from your blog within the comments section, which explains your answer in more detail."

As it happens, today I have been asked specifically questions about my niche, so I make sure my blog is fairly current ( its hard work, but worth it!) so that i can answer as above

Thanks Dave.

i mean when we blog on our websites

The best way is to publish the information so that the search engines can find it

Hey Dave, I am on Quora and use the platform purely for information/research purpose. However, will definitely take a closer look after reading your post, sounds like a few good possibilities.
Thanks,
Martin

It looks like It Martin for sure, like all these things consistency pays off

wow , I just learnt something new, thank you so much for sharing this, it has so much value, a question on here for you Dave, I may think my article is of value, you may not think so, is there anyway one can figure out, before publishing it

Khurshi, thanks for commenting, but I am not sure I understand the part about you publishing your article, can you be a little more clearer, so I can give you best advice ; 0

Nice post Dave. I am on Quora (have about 33 followers) but do not use it really. I have noticed a growing number of people in the online marketing space mention it as a source of traffic recently so I must take another look at it.
I had forgotten that there was a blog attached to it, so, like you, i am going to give that a test.

We will have to swap notes as to how we get on!

All the best

Jon

Cheers Jon, thanks for the comment, it seems to generate quality traffic which is what we are after

Hi Dave,
Just an update for you on Quora. I grabbed the bull by the horns and started a Quora blog, writing a post about WA. Didn't see a problem as there are quite a few questions on there specifically about WA.
A few minutes after submitting it, it got taken down by Quora with no explanation (so far anyway!).
I will keep you posted ...

Thanks Jon. Appreciate the update, for what its worth my plan was to blog about NONE WA material, through experiences gained over my time online. There are quite a few categories on there, so it should be fairly easy.

Think I will simply try generic online marketing stuff linking back to my website - see how that goes.

Good luck

Lets see how it goes. I have noticed that by linking my twitter and linkedin accounts, that answers posted get posted on those two networks automatically, which I didn't know would happen, but am quite happy that it does : )

Hi Dave,
Just heard about Quora today. I took a quick look and got a start but now, thanks, I got a much better understanding as to how to use it.
Sanders

Its a great place Sanders, its a question and answer forum, where everyone can contribute and get a good following without 'selling'

I’m on Quora, Dave, but must confess to not making much use of it. Having read this post, however, this will change once I’ve built out my web site!

Thank you for this :)

Will

Cool, thanks for commenting Will, its a great way of attracting people to you
