My brother-in-law (the one with the Ford Capri) was a police dog handler. He had this monster sized German Shepherd dog called Busby and the dog lived with Steve 24/7. He was as soft as warm butter, the dog that is; well maybe both of them. Our kids could ride on his back, take food out of his mouth, he was a very gentle dog.

But as soon as Steve put his police uniform on, Busby’s attitude changed in an instant. He was suddenly the attentive, aggressive police dog that he needed to be. Don’t mess, I’m on duty.

I have a good friend, Roger, a top class cyclist. He’s one of the lads, anything for a laugh, the ladies love his laid back attitude. Then there is the other Roger, as soon as he puts his cycling gear on, his lycra shorts and those funny shoes that go clickety-clack when he walks on the pavement, his whole demeanour changes. He walks up straight, he looks straight through you with his intense, focused stare. His full attention is on the cycle race ahead.

So don’t you think we should have the same focussed attitude when we sit down to do our Affiliate “stuff” and switch off to non-essential outside influences for the duration of our work time. After all, if you were sat in an office 9 to 5 for someone else, wouldn’t you do the things your boss needs you to do. Would you keep making personal phone calls, texting friends, looking at holiday resorts on the internet and generally day dreaming the day away. Of course not, you would have your office work hat on and you would get stuck in to your work, you would do what needed to be done.

You can plan and day dream away all the time that you want, but until you put your Affiliate business hat on and get down to doing the business then nothing is going to happen.

Stop planning the plan and start doing the do
