Oh no . not again bux
Well, it was bound to happen. Totally unplanned – it wasn’t my fault - honest.
I checked my diary today and realised it was the day of the classic car rally here in Wells, Somerset.
And it was such a fine sunny day, I thought it best to pop along for half an hour, no more, after all it’s just around the corner from my house.
The inevitable happened, half an hour became three and half. A couple of photos turned into dozens and despite promising myself I would be quick; I couldn’t help myself but talk to some of the owners of these great cars.
Yes, these cars look great now, but after being shown some “work in progress” photos for the restoration work, you realise the dedication of these people.
These folk really believed in what they could achieve. To take old barn finds and abandoned cars, full of rust, blistered paintwork, and to hold a vision in their mind of what it will look like in five or ten years’ time is to be commended.
And isn’t that like WA. For those of us that are determined, those that are in it for the long haul; we started out few years ago with a dream, big or small, and for those of us that have stayed the course, we have nurtured that dream day in and day out. Like a light that cannot be extinguished; dimmed at times, perhaps, but never extinguished.
A fantastic day, great company, great cars, lots of sunshine, perfect weather.
A now, as I sit here late at night, its just started to rain quite heavy. How lucky were we.

My mom used to collect old cars. I can imagine what some of them would be worth now...she was 45 when I was born and I'm now 84. Too bad they aren't still part of the family.
We all learn this lesson too late and let stuff leave us.
I know of only one person who diligently collected things since childhood. He's now got collections of stamps and toys that are worth a fortune, but he won't sell them.

They call it a historic car rally Nick. I suppose that includes anything built before last week. I go every year, just 3 or 4 minutes walk for me. Wonderful days, lots of sunshine. A little worried though, nothing to do next weekend.
